Some people just have to shit their pants whenever something doesn’t meet their preconceptions.

It is tiresome beyond belief.
Man I just got back from a hiatus and all this ridiculous, childish doomposting has me ready to go back to it.

Friggin' silly.

Especially since honestly, for the most part? This is blowback embarrassment for a lot of people who were talking smack online to Xbox guys. That's mostly it. Dudes are now embarrassed that they don't have the ammo they were sure they were getting and acting out.

You've always said this?

Really?

Even when they were churning out "bangers" to the point everyone was cheerleading him and Jim? Now one bad showcase and he's "the Phil Spencer of PlayStation"?

Good God, grow up.
Yes I have been saying this for years? I won't post my Twitter here to prove it for obvious reasons. But how are you gonna tell me what I've always said? What we are seeing now is what Hermen has been working on since he got promoted!

Don't try to credit him for Shu and Shawn's foundation, which he was coasting on for the last 2 years

And I was calling him Phil Spencer of Playstation even before this showcase, get a grip.

Yep that's the fastest selling Nintendo game of all time for sure. Spiderman 2 will be the fastest selling PlayStation game. But the biggest seller looks to be Spiderman 2. It'll explode with a temporarily lower priced PS5 this black Friday.

Unless Zelda has absolutily no legs Spider-man 2 won't stand a chance.

People are quick to forget that most of these showcases, from any company, are disappointing to some degree... and social media needs doomposting\drama\anger to feed itself.

If you think that one show with a few games that receive rm reception and PS is on the same footing as MS. That sounds bipolar and\or shortsighted.

Now a game to be considered successful needs to beat Zelda in both meta score, sales AND number of streams.

It's normal that Zelda sold a lot and will continue selling a lot for a while because it almost has no competition of big releases in Switch during this year.

If you want to buy a big great Switch game in 2023 and go to the store, most likely you'll end getting this.

They only have Pikmin as "important" (nobody ever gave a shit about Pikmin) release.

That sounds a lot like the n64 situation there. Release a few great games and little of anything else, your userbase ends up starved so they buy the big releases in insane amounts... While the ps1 had so many great games that it's hard to make a top 100 without feeling like it should be longer.

I think this is the reason of why big Nintendo games sell so much: there aren't almost other big releases on the platform.

In PS there are way more 1st/2nd/3rd party big releases, both exclusive and multi every year, so sales are spread across them all.
