I saw this image posted on another forum from Sony's investor deck. It seems Bungie will be allowed to infect* integrate* it's opinion into ALL Playstation Studios games going forward.

So what we're hearing is true, Bungie will eventually have to greenlight ALL projects from Playstation Studios, making them on par with SIE themselves.

Jim Ryan paid 4 billion dollars for Bungie and yet they STILL aren't required to make their games exclusive to Playstation. They made out like a bandit.

In what world is Destiny that important of a game to make Bungie the gods of all things live service? That title would have to go to someone like Epic.

May our current console hardware endure as long as it takes for a new dawn of great games to rescue us from our future days.

You all exaggerate. Not ALL games only the GaaS titles. You know that Bungie is probably the master of masters for developing Live Service Games? No one understands this better than Bungie themselves. Hence this is their daily bread. Chill out and don’t believe the hysteria of PS Fanboys who do spread this on Twitter. A reminder Microsoft also wanted to buy them, but Sony made a better offer overall. This acquisition will pay off within the next years. This coming from someone who rarely plays MP games.

Sony's success is born from their first party integration, knowledge sharing, collaboration among different companies. Naughty Dog, SSM, Guerrilla, Insomniac even Kojima aren't where they are right now if Sony didn't have this

This is what sets Sony first party apart from Microsoft

This is why Microsoft buying Bethesda and not even checking in on Redfall was a disaster

This is the biggest reason why they bought Bungie and the biggest reason you can have faith that Sony will do right with GAAS games. Even if it's not.your cup of tea, they won't put out an Anthem or Fallout 76

Bungie will grow the capabilities of Sony first party doing multiplayer or even shooters. Naughty Dog will improve Bungies animation. Guerrilla will improve their engine tech etc etc

If you love Sony first party, at least try to understand what makes them good

So you guys thought they spent over THREE* billion on them, including for talent retention, to NOT use their expertise in helping make their GaaS titles?

I thought people were cheering this move before since it helped strengthen them in an area of weakness, why is it sudden;y bad? 🙃

Edited cuz I WAY lowballed that. lol

People went to their panic stations over an average conference and now feel free to shit on everything about PS

Yesterday they hated gaas. Today they mourn that TLOU Online is now a one and done retail game and that they put that talent back on their bread and butter narrative driven games.

And the day before Haven and Firesprite were "banger" purchases.
That was before we actually got to see what Haven and Firewalk were working one.

Watchdogs: Hyenas and Jiggly Space Burger.

GaaS is a lot more offensive when presented as the main course and not as a side dish.

Problem there was marketing. CG trailers is just a garbage way to debut a game

We still know nothing about their games though. Completely writing them off is silly. Especially now we are seeing that Sony are putting a pretty high bar on what they are expecting teams to come with

Sony paid 3.8 billion for the talent at Bungie, not for the ip they created.
Bungie’s talent might (might!) be one of a kind at this point in history, sony now literally owns theee best fps developer on the planet..
Nothing Bungie have made have failed, so if they get the keys to sie i really cant blame Jim and the higher ups at Sony.

Bungie was the one that got Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 2 off the ground and feeling fresh and playing crisp. Look at uncharted today. What would uncharted be without bungie?
Bungie help design the DualShock 4, they pushed sony to go with 8gb of gddr5 memory in the PS4.

Look, if you know then you know, Bungie have been an asset to PS since they went independent, every interaction they have made with Sony over the past 15 years have only improved SIE. Sony nabbing them was a smart move.

I would not write off Concord one bit. No way. They did good enough to get flat out bought. The pedigree is there.

Helldivers might be niche but first game was solid. Hope to see it get some traction.
