PlayStation’s upcoming platforming celebration, Astro Bot, is already launching with roughly 80 levels. But there will be even more on the way later, via free DLC.

Speaking to IGN, Team Asobi studio head Nicolas Doucet told us there were plans for eventual free DLC for Astro Bot, coming “soon” after launch. He says it will be based around adding more challenge levels to the game – shorter levels focused on specific platforming challenges – but that won’t be the only component.

Peak Incoming, The chances of Rebirth GOTY seem to be reducing sadly 😥. Final Fantasy needs the GOTY more than ever as its always plagued with negative news

What other games are contenders?
So far, I think LAD Infinite Wealth, Rebirth, maybe you can put in an indie like balatro if the rest of the year is lean. For upcoming games if Black Myth Wukong lives upto what I think it is then it will also be a contender. Astro is also a shoe in, I have no faith in the ubisoft and xbox releases so maybe the paper mario remake will be considered.

It's so funny when you consider all the hate that Sony gets here and by the end of the year they'll have delivered

  • FF7 Rebirth via exclusivity deal
  • Stellar Blade
  • Rise of the Ronin
  • Helldivers 2
  • Destiny 2: Final Shape
  • Astrobot
  • Lego Horizon Adventure
  • Until Dawn
  • Concord

Due to the price of the PS5 and the lack of transmedia, I don't think Astrobot will be that big of a hit. Like it could sell well, but it's not going to do Mario numbers.

Assuming the game isn't bundled with PS5 Pro or anything, I'd say the ceiling on the game is probably 10 million units on PS5 alone and more realistically "good" would probably selling closer to 5 million units. It's likely to do significantly less than that.

Definitely a game you would have wanted on a more affordable system or with a disney pixar budget type move to go along with it.
