Valve would be an absolutely genius acquisition. The problem Sony definitely pissed them off with the Epic investments (as others have said). Gaben even endorsed the Series X as the "better" console a couple years ago. They are also privately held, and hardly publish any games, so it's hard to...
The gameplay from the 10 minute trailer looks good and it opens with what looks like a populated city. I'm guessing the open world will mostly be where monsters/enemies lurk between the major hubs. There also seems to be several different biomes which is good.
Bokeh was founded by Keiichiro Toyama, former Japan Studio director, and creator of Silent Hill/Gravity Rush/Siren. A lot of the people who left Japan Studio now work at Bokeh. If Sony acquired them it would be similar to how they bought Firesprite after they closed down Liverpool studio...
Yea it's definitely over.
It is pretty crazy seeing Yakuza and Persona on Xbox and PC now. Two of my favorite franchises that are/were heavily aligned with Playstation. I'm very curious to see what happens with Persona 6. There was already a rumor a while back about it being a PS5 exclusive...
This is probably one of my favorite ideas for a video game that I've heard. The other one is when Neil Druckmann spoke about wanting to make a Cowboy Bebop game. Those two IPs being worked on by Santa Monica and Naughty Dog, respectively, would be a dream scenario.

People underestimate Sony's clout in Japan. They're the the third largest Japanese corporation (#1 in tech). If Microsoft were trying to gobble up a Japanese publisher, not only would Sony know about it, they'd...
I honestly think it's FUD and marketing tactics. It's how they keep the Xbox fanbase engaged, especially through their game drought. It also sows doubt in the minds of consumers who are on the fence. When people hear how Xbox could own Capcom or Sega, etc., the PS5 might become less desirable in...
this.
it's clear that sony isn't going to buy a publisher unless it makes financial sense, and is a good fit for the company. for example, bungie was a synergistic acquisition to assist with gaas and their FPS void. they'll take calculated risks on studios (e.g. Haven) but I don't see them...
