Emulation is legitimate in all scenarios.
Emulation is not breaking copyright.
Breaking encryption is not breaking copyright.
Copyright sucks anyway and should be opposed.
Excuse me? I've probably watched that Q&A statement 20 times. I painstakingly transcribed it verbatim. Later Sony put out an official transcript. It notably removes what he said about first party titles' main purpose 'in the past' was to popularize the console. But the language around...
Ghost of Tsushima: Mar -> May
Horizon Forbidden West: Jan -> Mar
Rift Apart: May -> July
Last of Us Pt 1: Dec -> March
Last of Us Pt 2: March -> July???
I don't want to overhype, Helldivers is more exciting. But if you liked Apex or even pre-Hero shooter, Battle Royale, live service blah blah multiplayer shooters you should try it. There's a throwback element I like.
But Playstation is also playing an informal role too. Stellar Blade wouldn't be on my radar at all without their backing. Even among those Nier/Bayo super fans seeking out this kind of game, there's definitely a PS fandom thread boosting it. Like this games success will get back at Nintendo somehow.
This is not my kind of game at all, but the demo is nice enough. I really like the mix of AA 3D graphics and pixel art. English voice acting is above average for this kind of JRPG. I tried it on Steam Deck and wasn't tempted to dig into the graphics settings, which I count as a win.
Things changed. Layden didn't have to contend with rising hardware production costs. For him PC was a low stakes means to grow the PS fanbase. Today it's about using PC to *grow the first party*.
