Yea it has a future. For AAA gaming, it's the only platform with a future.

i don't think anyone would like it if 3 more tech giants entered the console space with separate digital libraries, accounts, friends lists, exclusives, accessories, etc. there is value to having a single standard that brings everyone together. it doesn't have to be a corporate monopoly behind...
When MS started Xbox, they were pretty explicit that computers were going to come to the livingroom, and they needed to be there. 20 years later, computers did come to the livingroom, but not mainly as videogame consoles. It's more SmartTV apps, Roku, Chromecast, Apple TV, etc. So the strategic...
Apple is doing everything they can not to associate Vision Pro with VR. They want people to call it "spatial computing", and they're not highlighting immersive VR gaming. a handheld gaming device is not in their wheelhouse at all. they've never been much of a gaming company.

In general I don't want more launchers on PC, specifically because they fracture the gaming experience. It's not good for us to have a bunch of different cloistered silos of gaming. It's better if there's one version of the game and one player base.
There's a way for Sony to keep designing...
Sony and MS by their own executive statements are experiencing the same issues with hardware production costs. It makes sense they would be since their consoles are like 95% identical inside.
Nintendo, go with god on that. There's intelligence in selling extremely outdated hardware for 2024...
An original trilogy remaster collection would sell on PS5. 4 is the ugly duckling of the franchise that makes it hard to carry newcomers into whatever comes next.
