If I owned a dev/publishing company all my PC games would absolutely require an internet connection to cut down on piracy or to basically have zero piracy. I wouldn't use something like Denuvo because it hinders performance.
Another way to look at it is a war between fanboys of PlayStation and Xbox. PlayStation is the winning side, but their fanboys have deployed psychological warfare against PlayStation fans to make them believe PS5 games on PC is a L because all games will be day 1 on PC which we all know is bs...
Yep, since PS4 Pro launch in 2016 it's been 20% and I'm pretty sure most buyers were new to PlayStation that gen and didn't have a base PS4. The same thing will happen with PS5 Pro, most of the buyers wont already have a base PS5.
In 18 months a 4070 build will be last gen, 5000 series GPU's launching late this year or early next year. It will ne pretty dumb to build a PC to match PS5 Pro specs at that point.
