Excited to see this, but to be honest anything would be an improvement over that dog shit upscaler square enix used for the performance mode. In motion, it made FF7 Rebirth look like one of the ugliest AAA games in recent memory. Sony even knew this, which is probably why they gave DF access to...
People like Gene Park declared that 2024 was going to be the "year of Xbox", meanwhile the only game Xbox studios put out this year was Hellblade 2--a boring six hour graphics tech demo.
DF are annoying and obvious shills, but they're not stupid and they see the way the winds are blowing. Their potential audience growth has a ceiling if they continue the Xbox bias. Wouldn't be surprised with they start glazing the PS5 pro if Sony starts giving them more exclusive access
Most people don't want the hassle or have the time to price hunt like a typical PCMR zealot. Of course anyone could do it, but there's a lot of people who'd rather just go for the Pro for simplicity's sake or to save time and effort
The gameplay trailer from a few months ago told me all I needed to know. Looks like the same bland and weightless button mashing combat system from Valhalla.
PS5 pro is worth it to me if it means I'll never need to look at that horrendous looking performance mode again in rebirth. I literally stopped playing it an hour in because of how blurry it was.
I'm not sure how many people are in my spot but I bought several PS5 exclusives in the past 6 months that I've intentionally stop playing early on (FF7 Rebirth, Stellar Blade, Rise of the Ronin) because I want to experience them on the Pro.
Denuvo is the current anti-piracy measure on PC. IIRC there's very few people out there who are willing to put in the time and effort to removing from modern AAA PC games.
A few will, but not as many as you assume. The vast majority of people who want to play those games already have. For many different reasons, FF as a series just doesn't have the same popularity it had 20+ years ago..
