This puff piece reads to me like Phil’s already got the boot, just a matter of formality before it’s announced. Imagine Reggie bad mouthing miyamoto like that or hulst saying jim Ryan doesn’t know what he wants.
This is way beyond just being in a bubble, this is straight up living in a complete delusion. And they still got like 3-5 more games in the making that are just like Concord. They never going to financially recover from this.
Really makes you wonder what was cancelled so this could be a priority? I have 0 confidence in playstation leadership picking and choosing what to greenlight and who to partner with. Waste of a generation. Whoever pushed for this GAAS nonesense needs to be fired.
Ok, lets say it is third party focus. Its around the same time as TGS, where sony is set to return. What can we realistally expect with all of that in mind?
Im guessing
Known or leaked games that have a good shot of being there:
-Spider Man 2-Venom DLC
-Variety of Chinese and South Korean...
Just looking at the Picture tells me all i need to know. Hideous character designs for the "modern audience," western publisher, which tells me shallow gameplay and DEI, Sweet baby inc agenda around every corner. I hope it fails.
I do think Square is on the inevitable trajectory of becoming a subsidiary of a larger company. The question is WHO?
- Chinese companies are apparently pulling out of investing in japan and theyve never outright bought an entire publisher.
- Microsoft is currently a mess with all the money...
I wonder how much of this is these 2 games “dying for the sins” of forspoken? Like both Final Fantasy games and of them selves could’ve done better but forspoken was such a black hole that they were getting dragged into the crossfire?
I think it means astrobot is doing pretty good but not like setting the world on fire. The Ubisoft and EA games are doing worse than that. Which is horrible for those games.
