They aren't in crunch for those games I am sure they can spare a couple devs for a few weeks to enable features they have in the PC version on console or at the least unlock the frame rate and PSSR
However they accomplish it, it should be a template for future FF games
The big thing missing from FF mainline for so long has been that moment where you get the airship and the world opens up
No publisher should be on the agenda
It's been a disaster for Microsoft that has made them third party to support the head count and it would do the same to Playstation
Yes they have an existing successful publisher relationship with them
Square Enix is too big and unwieldy.
CD Project have been actively antagonistic to Playstation in the past
Level 5 is a joke
Shift Up are too expensive for their lack of IP
Arrowhead they should also buy
Outside of those...

Right now they are sleeping on acquiring Arrowhead who in ten years will probably be celebrating 100 million sales of Heck-divers published by EA
PS5 user LTV is $622
Even if they only lost a million users, they will never make close to that money back on Steam game sales
Only a fool would consider losing far higher revenue users to not be an issue

No piece of gaming hardware is manufactured in the US. Your PS5, Switch, Xbox, Steamdeck, GPUs are...
For all intents and purposes it's the studios debut release on mainstream hardware. It will be slow burn for sales because Team Asobi barely has an existing fanbase to work with
It's selling at about the same rate as It Takes Two, which sold 1 million in its first month and eventually topped 20...
So the right wing grifters who have spent the last two years complaining about Western "woke" games and $70 pricetags have now voted for all of their Eastern Games to be raised to $90
