We are trying to build a community here, a group of open-minded people that will be around for years to come. Like others on this site, I have invested a lot of my time here, I want this place to succeed and I will not tolerate bad actors like yourself that are trying to ruin it.

Xbox in 2022 has been a complete joke. If I’m being honest, Xbox has been a joke for the last 10 years but that’s besides the point. Why is it every year Phil promises great things and every year ends up in disappointment? When is the cycle going to end and when are people going to hold him accountable for not delivering must have games to Xbox from their first party studios? Buying publishers is great but he’s not really delivering any must have games. They launched the Series X with 0 games and 2 years later their entire games library for 2022 is missing in action. WTF is going on over there at Xbox Studios?

The only studio that MS has that consistently pumps out quality is Playground Games, other than that the rest are just coasting on past glory or straight up failures. Bathesda is supposed to save MS but seeing the shitty state Starfield was in when they last showed it doesn’t give me any confidence at all.

In fairness, the cycle ended in 2021 which was a great year for Microsoft and it's first party studios. Forza Horizon 5, Halo Infinite, Psychonauts 2 and Deathloop were all highly rated and critically acclaimed. They also had Age of Empires IV on PC and Flight Simulator from Asobo Studio. Not every game is going to be for everyone.

Series X/S launch did have Gears Tactics but what did people really expect? What could have they released? Realistically, they had nothing. 2020 and 2022 are very similar. Microsoft going all in on one single game and then having no backup plan after delaying that one single game. It's bad but when researching their studios, none of it should be considered a surprise when several studios had just released a game or were about to.

For 2022, Xbox fans including myself have to do what Microsoft is doing - ride it out. Can't do anything else. Other than that, just have to hope that 2023 goes according to plan.

Many times people completely make up the Xbox gaming outlook. They also overestimate how important first party software is for Xbox's success. All that talk about how Series consoles didn't launch with tons of first party games and it still sold well. Game pass is the real killer app and it provides gamers with lots of different new software to play and stuff is always dropping. 2023 will be a new year and we'll see if it's a repeat of this year for first party but I wouldn't bet on it

Agreed. Both sides have consistently sold out their inventories and are doing great. For Microsoft's first party games, if I get better games because of them getting delayed, then they can delay every single game because I prefer a great delayed game as opposed to an average rushed out not ready game.

More regurgitated marketing plot points.

How is gamepass a killer app when it has less subscribers than PS Plus and has been offered left and right, even on pringles boxes? A killer app would sell itself. And it has a less rich feature set when compared to PS Plus while having a standard (not discounted) higher price.

It's a mess.

As for making up the gaming outlook, please clarify what's Xbox's profitability.

Are you talking about the recently revamped PS+ that had to add PS Now with their online service to make their numbers look better? And you are talking to me about regurgitated marketing points?

Game pass was far more popular than PS Now until Sony rebranded it to make themselves look better plain and simple. Xbox Live Gold and Game pass still aren't combined the way Sony combined all their sub services.

Xbox is part of MS. MS is incredibly profitable. Why don't you tell me what Xbox's outlook is since you want to deny the reality that Xbox is doing good now and will so even better in the future even if they haven't released a ton of 1st party games this year. They've shown they aren't doing the same thing as Sony and that's good thing just Nintendo isn't doing the same thing either.

That is true and the Sony fans here should agree with that.

This is a blatant lie. Their numbers have been hovering around 47 to 48M for a year now.

@TubzGaming - are you saying that the two services was never merged to make those numbers?
The numbers have been around 47 for around 2 years, Over 40 for around 3 years, Over 30 for just over 4 years.
PS+ Has only just been changed to Include PSNow numbers and that was only around 3+ million.
