Oh my god what an amazing thread backed up with source and facts.

The MS paid shill astroturfurs, which include the PC beggars race, starting attacking Sony exclusives after denial about terrible Xbox sales and MS first party and all the studios and publishers they bought games going to PS5 (in the case of the publishers, going back to PS5). These garbage human beings have no self respect nor honesty about themselves and only care about making Xbox look good and all their shit after shit decisions look like the correct choice.

Now the chickens have come home to roost for MS and their green rats. No amount of FUD and misinformation about Sony and PlayStation will change that.
Most Xboxers are normal people. Heck, even most of the PC gamers are ok. The vast majority of people I've seen shilling and astroturfing for Xbox...aren't even gamers.

At least, in the Hispanic community, they're mostly otakus who watch hentai in their mobile phones and they never play anything. Not consoles, not even PC. The minors are mad because they have no money, but the adults are usually middle aged men, living on governments welfare due to some serious mental illness, mostly schizophrenia. And, because the money they are given is just for food, they can't buy anything. They aren't gamers, though. And never were. If they had more money, they would never buy consoles, computers, or games, anyway. But gaming is the fad now and they want to be part of that fad, just to receive attention.

The PC Beggars Race are usually minors with an office laptop, given to them by the government, so they can study. But they only use it to play pirated games. These are the users with low specs who are always complaining that "games are badly optimized", which is not true. Games ARE well optimized. They're just not downgraded, which is what they are actually asking for.

Soyboy alert!

There is no doubt everything these people are doing is true. You are posting in a thread about it this very second. Are you that good at ignoring reality?

Doing what the same? Purposefully talking FUD about PC and Xbox? No. We are responding to the FUD and correcting it. That is not the same as what they are doing which is astroturfing.

I care because I want to and love this hobby. These people are ruining it with their bullshit. Yes I can ignore it but you see these people’s ignorant takes all the time because of social media and the content I’m interested in. Videogames.
The people ruining this hobby are tourists and they will disappear once videogames are forgotten by the mainstream. Which will happen once Xbox gets closed. Games fell into obscurity once Atari disappeared, too.

work- wow

I just had a random thought about the acquisition era. MS buying Bethesda was shocking- I personally always thought they paid too much but in a way it kinda made sense as Bethesda/id was mostly known for PC stuff so it seemed like a good fit at the time.

When Sony and MS went buying up all these other publishers and studios though, it just seemed like a race to become the biggest the fastest. Sony isn't completely innocent in this as it seems the Bungie acquisition was misguided.

Why didn't they take a more strategic approach and buy smaller devs or publishers who put out solid games, like Saber, or Gunfire Games, or Crytek, etc.? They went after the big guys and apparently it has been more trouble than it's been worth

IMO
Microsoft has billions due to their investors, so they wanted to incite Sony to go bankrupt buying more studios and publishers than them. This was the plan to destroy Sony. As if the Japanese were stupid, lol. Of course they stopped once they noticed Microsoft's retarded strategy.

They have tried to buy Nintendo many times but they get mocked all the time. You know, it's illegal to buy Japanese companies if you aren't a Japanese company yourself. This is the reason why Japanese companies help each other, even buying each other temporarily to shoo the foreigners out.

For some reason, everyone is crazy and wants to destroy everything, even themselves, except for the Japanese. It's really WTF. What's wrong with people's brains? Specially in westerners people's brains. These fellows need therapy and probably psychiatric drugs, too. Of maybe they are too old and sick with dementia.

The funny thing is, Parris, Jez and everyone else at the time were 100% correct in wanting and assuming those Zenimax (and even most ABK games aside COD) to be Xbox console-exclusive. That is the normal expectation in normal behavior for a platform holder with a console on the market.

Only Microsoft could fumble an $80 billion bag this badly. They put themselves in a position where their console is dying, so it makes zero financial sense to make Zenimax or ABK games console-exclusive to Xbox. And people like Parris, Jez etc. are only crying about it now because their favorite plastic box can't have exclusives for business reasons, so they have to make it seem like NO platform can have exclusives or else it's "anti-consumer".

Except, the only platform they ever target when saying this is PlayStation (though some are stupid enough to start saying "Nintendo will put games on PC eventually", as if they would considering they had an opportunity with Wii U but went against it, for smart long-term reasons). Not really Nintendo. Never Valve (who have tons of defacto 3P exclusives and 1P exclusives on Steam). Nope, always only PlayStation.

That's how you know the narrative is agenda-driven and nothing based on substance. I also blame Phil Spencer, as usual, for stoking the flames of this "anti-exclusives" narrative as he knew the direction Xbox was about to go in, and simply couldn't signal the changes without trying to drag PlayStation in the mud with them.

EDIT: Also nice to see the thread is stickied. It's one of those ones that should always be easily accessible; stuff like this helps to keep bad faith actors from playing revisionist history with their own past statements (or ignore possible collusion in pushing a very specific narrative).
Any western console and videogame company that does not release their games on PS, Nintendo consoles, mobiles AND PC will go bankrupt. The videogame industry is 90% Asian. Asians are the vast majority of the population worldwide, the 1st creating things and the 1st buying and consuming things. They are the market itself and every little thing is decided by them.

So, western companies either make games the Japanese, Korean and Chinese like, or they will end up like Atari and Xbox.

I don't really disagree with anything you said but their first party games like God of War, Spider Man, etc. are far bigger and more popular than any second party game that they'll make a deal with which includes day one on PC so if Sony is publishing these games themselves on PC day one, why wouldn't they do it for their first party games that are bigger and more popular? Sony went to PC to grow their platform, eco-system and IP's. You don't go to PC at all if you're not planning to eventually be day and date. In my opinion, it's just a matter of when, not if.
Simple answer is Sony has stated what they are doing which isn't what you are insinuating.

If that's not enough proof for you then look at the fruits.
How many day one,non license issue and non GAAS first party game have they released on PC?

You xbox people keep trying to will this into existence because your trusted brand has done this.
Why would Sony follow a unsuccessful brands steps?

Finally... the hand me downs Sony does release on PC... pale in comparison sales wise to the PlayStation versions.

It's sad to see Daniel Ahmad now on the anti-exclusive train. Are there any prominent industry analysts left that are pro-consoles and pro-exclusives? I can't seem to think of any.
I really don't know... Maybe Serkan Toto but I'm not sure if he fully backs exclusives. He is about the best analyst in gaming though....

Here we go.... Daniel Ahmed pushing the anti exclusives angle now too

Disagree with that. He's simply stating a fact. If your game is on multiple platforms, you're going to obviously do better than being on a single platform. Don't know why you and others keep going nuts about all of this shit.

That's not always the case. Some games will sell more with times exclusivity due to double dipping and others will sell more if they're hyped up as an exclusive vs available everywhere and therefore not as 'special'. It's all psychological.

Perhaps. If a game launches day one on multiple platforms, the basic math tells you that it has a far greater chance at success where as a timed exclusive game won't do much if anything elsewhere because the hype and zeitgeist is gone and the vast majority have simply moved on because the time for that game is past. The more platforms that your game is available on day one equals more consumers/users that have access to the game when it's at it's most hyped and wanted which in turn will lead to more sales, players, engagement, etc. which will make the game bigger than it would be on any single platform.

And of course, there are costs to consider. The more platforms you release on, the greater the costs, so while you may sell more units, you may net less profit.

The costs are obviously higher but with everything pretty much being x86 architecture, the porting process is the easiest and cheapest that's it's ever been. Imagine back on 360/PS3/PC/Wii. That was far worse, more time consuming, took more resources and thus, cost more than what it is now. Also, games cost more to purchase and come with micro-transactions, dlc, etc. so publishers not only make up that cost pretty quickly but also make more profits in the short and long term.
