That's the whole point of the post I made earlier. I'm not arguing that the original didn't sell decently but no matter how you spin it, the remaster was a failure and it directly goes against what Shuhei was proclaiming all this time about these remasters being a necessity to fund new AAA projects. The majority of the assumed <150k sales (taken from comparing the Indiana Jones' performance) were probably the $10 upgrades. That's not even a droplet on the side of the bucket.Days Gone already sold a 5+million on PS4. The remaster just wasnt needed as it already got a free 60fps PS5 patch and was given away with PS+
Not too sure about which charts you are referencing, but if they are the ones of the top downloads on the PSstore , they clearly state that upgrades are not included, so the <150000 are in reality 49.90 $ new copies, while the number of 10 $ upgrade remain completely undisclosed. That's the whole point of the post I made earlier. MS Gaming just doesn't know how to make fun Gameplay. Same as with Starfield.Indy was screaming out for a third person action game like uncharted or tomb raider the fact they made first person was the wrong decision in my opinion.
Not really surprising to me. The IP is a niche IP in 2025. The game play is an immersive sim style, which is also a niche. What you get when you put those two elements together is a niche of a niche. If they just did an Uncharted clone that was more action oriented, this game would have sold 5x the copies.Surprising, I actually thought it would do quite well... Let's see over the longer term
Yeah but I did think the absence of Uncharted might fuel some sales... Tomb raider tooNot really surprising to me. The IP is a niche IP in 2025. MachineGames is a master at making first-person games. Only console gamers don't prefer first-person games. If Sony made a first-person game, you would only praise the game if it was Sony's, but when it's someone else who makes a first-person game, you criticize it.MS Gaming just doesn't know how to make fun Gameplay. The moment i saw that first-person gameplay with the terrible whip mechanik and fist-combat, i knew this will not fly well.
It’s a game i‘m looking into when it’s dirt cheap. Not paying full price for a fake retail.Surprising, I actually thought it would do quite well... Let's see over the longer term
Nah. A lot of PS fans don’t like first person games. If ND made a first person game, PS fans would be very disappointed.MachineGames is a master at making first-person games. This generation doesn’t care for Indiana Jones. Todd Howard wanted to make it because he grew up loving the films when he was a kid in the 80’s. This game would have sold much better 40 years ago. Also. You’re right. Immersive sims games aren’t that popular. Not really surprising to me. The IP is a niche IP in 2025. The game play is an immersive sim style, which is also a niche. I think PS fans saw it as “we can already play our Indiana Jones, which is Uncharted” And PS fans prefer 3rd person games.Yeah but I did think the absence of Uncharted might fuel some sales... Tomb raider too
There's nothing wrong with playing a first-person game if it's done well. PlayStation gamers should give first person games chance.Nah. A lot of PS fans don’t like first person games. If ND made a first person game, PS fans would be very disappointed.
First-person games are just as good as third-person gamesI think PS fans saw it as “we already have our Indiana Jones, which is Uncharted” And PS fans prefer 3rd person games.
