I really don't get why Sony is so convinced that total silence is a great strategy. I think their marketing and communication team suck big time and has sucked for a long time. It's the worst part of the company maybe tied with whoever is responsible for system software/features.
Console history suggests that announcing games early is actually a great sales strategy and it's an easy way to build hype. Would people care more about Hellblade 2 if it was announced and released within 6 months?

Well deserved because marketing had been bad well before 2021 but should've been replace by a competent team.

'Gutted' doesn't mean reduced to zero. What staff they have is a shadow of what was formerly present prior to the reductions in 2021, and communication the past couple of years is proof of it IMO.
