It certainly kills the Xbot narrative that the Series S isn’t holding back developers this gen.
With the market split being public knowledge now, expect a lot of devs to shitcan Xbox builds, especially since there are so few Series X out there.

I totally forgot the vast majority of next gen Xbox's sold are the 299 potato Series S. Yeah, no wonder why developers are skipping the entire platform than develop for that split ram casual machine.
And people were banned from GAF for saying this just a few months back as console warring.
Yeah, anyone who blamed Playstation for the current lack of an Xbox version is looking like a clown right now. I've also seen folks claim the studio is lying about co-op issues with series S because of the pc specs.
Seems like Sony's decision to have both skus of their console have the same specs was a good one.

The Series S was a big mistake and I wouldn’t be surprised that thing is the reason why so many games are more optimized on PS5.

To think that the overwhelming majority of the Xbox fanbase who adopted "current gen" hardware is still gaming in 1080p.

I swear I read somewhere that Cerny proposed the idea to some devs and they said ‘please don’t’.
A low-spec SKU of your console limits what you can do with your first party as well since devs have to design something that will run well on both versions of your hardware. MS are held back by the Series S as their lowest common denominator whereas Sony only have to worry about 1 console spec.

They never said the game was suppose to come at day and date with PS5/PC/Mac.
They said they were developing a Xbox version but due techinical reasons they can't announce it or give a date.
But it is not just Jez... read GAF or ERA you will see most created the same narrative lol
Dev is probably not even focusing in Xbox version anymore due that tecnical issue.... they are focusing in what they will launch in few months.

Mistake to engage the clown since he feeds off the clout but I guess if your product is on the line you would want to clarify. Usually a statement on the official twitter account of the dev or website should be enough - without directly engaging those spreading the misinformation. It's why you have a job in the studio for "community manager". The clown just simply pivoted, requiring even more explanation. He got them good. Clearly whomever that is doesn't know the POS snake he's dealing with.
It didn’t hit me before that the majority of Xbox consoles out there are Series S. MS made a mistake with the original Xbox One’s specs last gen and now made another one with the Series S.
That is what happen when you do a paper launch to try to call "strongest console in the world".
MS released a console that nobody can buy and offered a cheaper downgraded option.
Worst part is, the S isn’t even just a scaled-down X, it has a different memory architecture entirely, so you can’t just put in flags to use certain assets or settings, you actually have to recode things to work well.
They were totally trying to start a race to the bottom for consoles, while having the plausible deniability of making “The Most Powerful Console EVAR!!!!!” and hoping it wouldn’t sell, in favour of the cheap potato they put out.
And without the market share Edge, their policy of forcing support for the Series S to release an XBox version of a current-Gen title is going to make a lot of devs decide to skip Xbox entirely!

"Microsoft has an infinite warchest" - layoffs and price hikes, desperation setting in. Demand for starfield to be a system seller, when previously "it doesn't matter if you buy an xbox"
"Microsoft doesn't view Sony as a competitor" - "Let us have competition!"

As a any honest developer will tell you, series s its a problem for the future of the xbox ecosystem and for a lot of third party devs, sony ones doesnt have that problem, they have idéntical skus, the only devs i have seen defending the series s are índies or the ones under the xbox umbrella, they wont be honest
