Borderlands movie only made $31m at global box office vs $115m budget

The Borderlands movie made a total of $31 million at the box office after leaving cinemas on September 5. According to film industry data site The Numbers, the film made $15.4 million domestically and almost $15.5 million globally after being in theatres for a month.

The movie grossed $16 million globally during its opening weekend starting on August 6. It reportedly had a production budget of $155 million with marketing and distribution costs at $30 million.

They killed him.
it was a joke, isn't it? Roland was a chad, not pussy as midget.
Film really missed on so many things from games.
and i thought that films and series makers has learned, how not fuck up the gaming material.

The film was in development hell with most of the shooting done before Covid, and thus before people learned from stuff like the Sonic movie, Detective Pikachu, TLOU, Fallout, etc.

The whole casting was a joke. And then the story is completely different from the games.

Eli Roth decided to take the franchise and "do his own thing" thinking he'd sell tickets regardless, because apparently no one in Hollywood is capable of learning from the mistakes of others.
