Bungie acknowledge high interest in a Destiny 1 remake or classic version

I have seen a total of zero people claiming to want this in every gaming-related or tangentially-gaming-related community that I visit.


Odds are this is just dumb executives playing the safe card and blowing up money again, because they refused to listen to what went wrong with Concord and later Destiny 2 DLCs.

It’s because the D1 got a permanent price drop to like $20 last week and the ps5 pro improves image quality etc.. PC players don’t have D1. So there’s been some chatter.

The story is totally blown out of proportion. It was just a post on X from community manager dmg saying he’d “pass along the info.”

D1’s most important aspects are in D2 already with the remastered raids (minus wotm).

In reality I’d rather play the mobile game. It would be a novelty at best.

There’s three well defined eras to the game. With the effectively was a soft reboot as well as ending (like don’t bother playing older stuff). They’re probably about to retire more content so they definitely need some kind of solution.

Renamed, repurposed, and reworked into a larger rogue-lite mode.

D1 talk is novelty. No one is going back to D1 gameplay and sandbox. After playing the mobile game… I’d rather play the mobile game

Not really. Mostly nostalgia attached to a more primitive game. Most of what was relevant in D1 is in D2 (from content to gear) and far improved as with content and due to the current game’s constant evolution.

Like there’s no active players that would do this.

Ideally we’re better off with a remastered director’s cut of the d1 campaigns. No patrol zones added, etc.

It’s sorta not worth the effort. It’s not like Destiny players are playing campaign missions after the first two weeks of a launch.

Do you know Destiny 1 is still active, no?
On PS4 / PS5 it is populated enough to play.

Raids are happening but you need to find groups (not different from before ).
Clash, Control, well Crucible in general is populated in the weekly featured playlist (the others is more hard to matchmaking).
Heroic Strikes playlist is fine too.
Forge has players in... the trick of crouch walk to force new matchmaking still works perfectly here.

Like I said the Destiny Classic thing is probably a way to try to get these Destiny 1 players on Destiny 2.

Edit - Just turned on the game... Tower is full populated with players.
