Did Sony give up on trying to increase MAU or did they bend the knee? I hope it's the former.

Lmao that means Xbox next console will not require PSN since it will be a Xbox PC & it will not require PS+ to play PS multiplayer games day one what a benefit for Xbox & PC players LMAO.

Bungie making PS the bitch even after falling to meet measure after the deal & lying to Sony/PS exec bout Bungie revenue which revealed Bungie was about to implode.

Bungie should already be under PS studios keeping them being semi independent is gonna cause more confusion & undermine PS platform/ecosystem & PS business by not increasing PS MAU/PSN.

Sony/PS think dropping PSN will increase sales when even with PSN dropped Spider-Man & TLOU2 flopped at the end PC gamers don’t care about PS singleplayer games & if you release a good GAAS PC players won’t care about signing into PSN. At the Xbox, PC & Steam win having PS games + no PSN + no PS+ not even MS drops the MS account when releasing a MS/Xbox games outside Xbox/Windows Nintnedo doesn’t & Valve would never drop such measures

This also question PS GAAS push especially on PC & Mobile does PS games require PSN no then Fairgames & future games should have a PSN right same for mobile games? If not & they do then why does marathon not require? These are the questions people will ask at the end PS not making all games outside PSN is ultimately undermine PS business & its growth. It’s also not securing users on PC & Mobile (Xbox) that they own & gives PS control of there games on other platform to ensure & prevent piracy & ownership etc

It is simply Sony keeping their word and allowing Bungie to still operate independently. Not people twisting this into something it isn't.

Yea

BECAUSE IT REQUIRES A BUNGIE ACCOUNT

this is how they can facilitate friends list, messaging and in-game voice chat with cross-play and save. It pretty much became mandatory when cross-save launched.

Lols

I find account linking drama to mostly be faux outrage bs. Helldivers 2 scenario was messy as f**k tho.

Nearly every game makes an account for you for a publisher or service. Maybe on console you don’t realize it since some processes are streamlined to just take your psn, press x two times and it’s done. Account made.

EA is the worst at managing that shit tbh. If you don’t play one of their games for awhile they’ll cycle out and retire your shit and then that’s a mess when trying to play the next game… errors galore and blocked out of online features until you contact them and clean their own mess… while sacrificing previous game data once linked to you.

Can someone explain to me why someone would get "spooked" by having to create an account linked to a video game publisher?

Bungie officially confirms Marathon will not require a PlayStation account for players on PC and Xbox

Little bitches got scared and they'll never do it again. Sad!
If Xbox wants Playstation accounts for its games, Sony should put Playstation accounts on Xbox and PC.
Games require a crossplatform account to do things like crossplay or cross-save. If they say it won't require a PSN account, it's because it will require a bungie.net account. Which is still a Sony account, at least for crossplay and cross-save.

As I remember, in your bungie.net account you link there your PSN, Xbox, Steam account.

Wonder if bungie player counts fall under the umbrella of PS player counts?
It depends what do you mean by PS player counts. Bungie is a 100% owned SIE subsidiary, a first party PS team under Hermen's Studion Business Group. So when SIE reports their first party player userbase anywhere (in total, in PS, in PC...) it includes Bungie.

When SIE reports the PS MAU it includes all games, including both 1st and 3rd party (so Bungie too).

I have no ideia why people are like that lol

Bungie games requires Bungie’s account that is required to be linked to a platform account you are playing (PSN, Live, Steam, etc).

So it the same 🤷🏻‍♂️

Which is funny… Bungie account requires sign up and tying in your console or pc accounts to unify them.

So you still need at least TWO accounts created to play. One from Bungie and the other the plafform(s) you’re launching on.

What’s next? Asking for offline modes? Local saves to manipulate save files? 🤣😂🤣

PC gamers worship Steam, they shill it for free and they don't like anything else.
That's another thing I don't understand. I believe Epic gives a bigger cut of sales to publishers/developers. You'd think gamers would want to support the people actually making the games they like.

now its time to confirm that PS players wont need a subscription to play this game, same as the steam users we are facing on crossplay !!
