Capcom sold 20.025M units of software so far this fiscal year, with 54% of that sold on PC Digital.

PC Digital share has gradually grown from 32% in FY20 to 54% in FY25.

Console meanwhile has shrunk from 51% in FY20 to 40% in FY25.

The PC gaming sector has boomed significantly in recent years. Even I'm considering canceling my PS5 Pro order and building a PC instead, as I just haven't felt well-treated as a PlayStation player lately. I genuinely lack confidence in PlayStation's future. If the PS6 doesn't succeed, PlayStation players will bear the brunt of Sony's fallout. In contrast to Microsoft, Sony won't have the billions in reserve to bail itself out.

Harsh, but fair

I've already made a draft of a new PC build, but there are issues with the GPU.

The prices are too high, and it's obvious that even for 1080p, you need 12gb+ VRAM, because DLSS likes to eat it.

I've decided on RTX4060TI16GB, but I'll probably wait for the 5xxxx generation.

Of the new games, I'm only interested in STALKER2, at least I'll play 30fps on my current PC (i7-6700, GTX1070, 16gb RAM). I have purchased the game on Steam in the Ultimate version, I have an XSX but I don't want to renew my subscription.

Man sony needs to make some moves quick in Japan. Between PC really taking off and Switch 2 potentially powerful enough to run ports, sony is about to get boxed out. They may no longer be the defacto "HD" exlusive platform and have no first party in the region to speak of besides Gran Turismo. Also doesnt help that ALL of their partners want to go multiplat now as well. Short sighted leadership chasing GAAS nonesense instead of looking big picture. Sony shouldve at least invested substantially in SE and Capcom while the ABK ordeal was going on "Just in case."

If you want to go high end power, console wins for cost:performance every time.
If you're happy to play at 1080p/1440p you can get a solid PC for less than the cost of a pro.
Comfortable livingroom setup is keeping me away from PC. Sony kept no other reason for people to stick with them.
Steam big picture mode on boot-up+controller = console

Just digital? So we don't have the full picture.

Consoles still sell more overall and physical is included.
It's a bit of a naff metric because 99% of pc is digital. By definition, console will sell more on physical.

Digital is the better measure.

1440P 60fps PC cheaper than PS5 pro doesn't exist. I am sorry but we had this argument 3 months ago and we proved this nonsense wrong.

It's typical Sony once again. They are now irrelevant in the smartphone and TV sectors, and having reacted too late, they do not have their own streaming service like Netflix. Soon gaming will fall victim to the same fate.

No, it does include physical copies of PC+console, included in what they call "package units". Notice they split it into:
-PC units (digital)
-Console units (digital)
-Package units

The "PC units (digital)" part is around half of the combination of the three parts this quarter, as happened the same quarter of the previous fiscal year and the other one before.

Around 4 years ago Capcom said that they were going to make an effort to push their efforts in PC to increase their PC sales and turn it into around half of the units, and in the 3 recent fiscal years they've been achieving it.

It's funny how you guys make this exclusively about Playstation, when it's actually about consoles across the board.
