Everyone knows that.

Because MS pays them millions of dollars for exposition.
Only failed and indie games benefit from GP.
Most relevant studios and games don't need it.
And the same is true for PS+.
Big relevant studios don't need these subscriptions services.

Facts.

If you're game failed to meet expectations but got better, like recently guardians, then putting it on a service is a nice way of getting money upfront, and drumming up excitement.

Many big studios are on Gamepass. Apparently they do need it 🤷‍♂️

When was the last time a big publisher launched a AAA single-player game on Gamepass day one?

Earlier this year, Sniper Elite 4 and MLB2k22 launched day one.

The problem in terms of AAA games is MS hasn’t gotten their studios in full swing yet and there’s been a large absence of third party AAA games MS could even sign to the service. Outside of those two, what else could there have even been? Madden and Elden Ring?

Weird way of moving the goalposts, but it was in May iirc. Turns out there aren't that many "big publisher single-player AAA" games out there.

SE4 is the opposite of AAA. It's low-budget AA indie jank at best.

MLB2k22, yes. Although that doesn't technically fit the criteria as it is an MTX-filled annual sports title, but we can count it for sure. But that was in April 2022. If you get 1 good AAA game in 9 months, that only further validates that this model isn't financially viable for big SP games -- which is what Striking Distance and Remedy said.

For MP games though or games that rely on MTX? Absolutely. The subscription model rocks.

SE4 isn’t AA 😆

The game is fucking loaded with content and modes of play. But it has plenty of SP content and a narrative story. MLB can also be played entirely SP with loads of content and modes. So there’s two for you in 2022.

Indie jank 😆 I feel sorry for you. But carry on, soldier.

If you think Sniper Elite 4 is AAA, I can only feel sorry for you and your gaming tastes and the fact that you guys have forgotten how AAA games are supposed to be.

And even if you count them, only 2 big games in 9 months? That doesn't help you and only validates my point: big games don't launch on a subscription service day one.

Apparently, for them, it is. The whole USP of the game is to shoot soldiers' balls in slow-mo and bask in that glory. 🤣

I wonder what they call Red Dead Redemption 2, Horizon Forbidden West, God of War, TLOU 2, Witcher 3, Mass Effect, etc.

Sniper Elite 5 was made by hundreds of devs over several years. It's AAA by definition.

They must be AAAA games.

Is Zombie Army a AAA game?
