Probably one of the best expansion presentation ever for Destiny.

And Renegades is using Star Wars astestics for a Destiny's story... loved.

Team Warlock in the force side with that light saber 🔥 🔥 🔥

I haven’t played Destiny for awhile, but Im gonna jump back in. Am I still able to play previous DLC I missed out on?

Everything but the first two years of D2. Those campaigns kinda don’t exist anymore. Forget that they were deleted by design; they kinda lost it too and may never come back. Personally I don’t care one bit tho tbh.

Seasonal narratives are missing. Some were great and were FOMO and better than expansions for many. Some were important to having greater understanding of the events of Final Shape etc. but gone now. They’re not doing that anymore.

I played the first 2 years, but nothing after. But Im thinking of bringing back my other character from D1 over lol

Witch Queen and Final Shape are worth playing. If you include every expansion you missed that’s like 50 hours of campaign content; and that’s not including any post campaign exotic quests etc…

It’s very easy for me to say just play Final Shape and not worry about the previous stuff. You won’t have all the subclasses (because they’re attached to expansions they debuted in) but it’s very much designed to play from the current moment in time. Like you’ll be served well just playing this taken king sequel with the current season and not getting expansion content if you wanted. (rare anomaly — this final seasonal dlc of the old model the best they’ve ever made)

Also, Final Shape is the last campaign designed the way they were since witch queen. It’s definitely a send off and I definitely suggest playing if you were there at the beginning too. The narrative is good because it’s meant for the player and not the story of the game. I’m still blown away that Bungie wrote about faith and death. The main story didn’t live up to its original mystery to me but that was a good fucking ending. It was about you and your journey. Few game endings hit me like that

(Not sure how the last level plays currently since it was like 9-players or something like that). Campaigns are usually 8’missions in number. final shape had 7 with mission 8 being a spectacular boss fight with ai npcs and other players against the big bad.

What’s coming starting in July is pretty much a new destiny. Powerlevel reset, armor 3.0, world tiers and non-linear campaigns. You can always wait too. In short, doesn’t matter when you hop on

It’s absolutely fascinating how successful that reveal was for its fanbase. We are definitely excited. Numbers are up with this latest end of season update too. Will be interesting to see if it’s still outperforming Helldivers on steam with next week’s warbond drop (across all platforms - is a different story).

Vehicle PvP launches today too (tanks vs mechs)

PS -

This next saga will go on for the next “several years.”

And they’ve officially announced 4 of these expansions in total for the next 2 years. Length of Saga 2 is unknown but it’s not expected to be 10 years.

This could potentially fuel D3 rumors again. Truth is, it seems to me… they play this stuff out year to year. And d3 is still not likely —- leaving last gen behind is.

D2 was a big mistake and they realized that.

D2 should be a big D1 update like Destiny 2.0 and now we should be getting another big update called Destiny 3.0.

Bungie lost a lot of players that dedicated over 1000 hours in D1 with D2… I’m one of them… if it was a continuation to D1 then I should be playing Destiny yet.

But the lose of my 3 characters and all the emblems and things hard earned with suck emotional story killed any change to jump in all that again with D2.

Destiny 3 will never happened because they know what happened with D1 to D2.

I comment, watch trailers, hype the game, etc… I even brought D2 but after some days playing I realized I was not in the mood to do everything I did in Destiny again in Destiny 2 and I left after over 2000 hours access three characters.

PS. I thank so much friends here (on GAF too) that gave me the expansions to see if I could retake that joy to play it, and I tried but it felt like it was no me… Bungie killed my identity with Destiny when moved to D2.

Wait hold up.

Eh, a numbered sequel would be a sign of the times. Expansions do more things than D1 -> d2 did with its changes.

Is it a really a numbered sequel we want?

To me Destiny 3 at this point means something else. It means a new game. A new character. New everything. Maybe not even the same universe or anything like that.

Might as well just make a new IP. I’d prefer if they went fantasy mmo route if a new game of the sort was being developed.

That is how I felt about Destiny 2.
It was everything except not the Destiny I played for several hundred hours.
If D2 was just a big update for D1 I should be playing it yet every week.

It was my most played game ever.
The second was GT5 with like 600 hours max.

Free end-of-season event leading into the next expansion. I haven’t played myself in a bit — so no real impressions yet. Haven’t had the time

3 dungeons in rotation. I believe there’s a single-player friendly “explore” mode built for this. You do not need to own these dungeons to play them in this event too. They’re remixed with a variety of difficulty modes and high value rewards.

Dungeons are sorta but not really on par with raid content. And of course some of the best environments and content in the game.

The time leading into the next expansion, if you ask me, is kinda always the best time to play the game.

And of course tanks vs brigs, vehicular combat PvP, launched today:

I went back to D2 today I think for the first time since the first season or so after having spent some hundreds of hours in D1.

I wanted to play some campaign story I missed in order (whatever is available now) and found the UI ultra confusing and a really bad onboarding for new players or those who come back after a long time. Let's hope the upcoming new menu has everything there properly ordered because now it's a mess. Found a lot of planets, modes and activities but didn't explain properly what exactly each thing is.

Explored Europe and I did several things, and quickly got purple stuff for everything exept the gold stuff. But regarding the main campaign, I might try to find it tomorrow. Some part of the game feel oudated (mainly the hub) but the main PvE gameplay with shooting and so on still looks and feel cool. I did something that not sure if was a raid, assault or something, with some epic boss, tons of waves of minions, ships, turrets and so on. It was a big hard but felt cool and after like almost half a dozen attempts achieved it.

But you didnt lose your character in D2 from D1. Just the weapons and such. But yes, they should of either handled the transer/ weapons/emblems.gear better or call it Destiny 2.0.

But they gunplay changed a bit and 60fps etc

Im gonna jump back in the next couple months. There good games tbh and looks like the DLC has been great

Im gonna start playing again too. Stopped after 1-2 years after D2. 1000+ in D1.

Are they bring a new menu/UI? I just want to go through the campaigns and then join my old team for raids etc

The UI will get reworked again. Most mimicked UI in the industry but yea they need something to guide new and returning players.

Not saying they “fixing” it for the next expansion but it might be more direct:

If you didn’t watch the livestream here’s a quick summary that’s pretty decent:

(you get to see the “morph ball” in first person here — Metroid expansion)

Destiny is currently #8 for best selling games on ps5 with preorders having launched placing it behind expedition 33 and oblivion (likely cumulative of all content being sold on psn this week) . Older content is tracking 2x in the top 15 best selling for the current sale(s) on psn for the entire collection of old content and final shape itself.

Well… it seems we’re back.

So I just bought all the content for 30 on psn damn I’m so lost 😂

I can’t help you here. I think campaigns are launched at a kiosk. No idea how it is.

When you turn it on it probably tosses you right into the current season and you’re probably finding yourself on D1’s dreadnaught from taken king and travelled 9 years back in time.

Or the first mission from the newest expansion.

What’s included in the $30 bundle? I can’t see prices since I own everything. That’s a good deal if it’s everything before Final Shape. I would’ve suggested buying final shape tho.

Shadowkeep and Beyond Light camapaigns suck. Europa from Beyond Light is beautiful tho. Otherwise expansions from Witch Queen moving forward are the best (this includes lightfall’s campaign despite how maligned that expansion year is). Playing on hard is rewarding as they’re pretty much traditional action game campaigns.

Yes that’s a huge deal for everything. Especially tfs + annual pass being include. Best deal I’ve ever seen for it tbh.

It's top 1 in PSN preorders in pretty much any main EMEA & American country: USA, Germany, France, UK, Spain, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Canada, Mexico, Brazil... but instead isn't that top in Asia.

Sony/Bungie should improve their Destiny 2 Asian marketing for global domination. Seems GoT, DS2 and regional stuff are being more preordered there these days (nothing rare, shooters are more popular in the west, particularly in USA).
