Fun fact: the PS3 actually was the console of its generation to run the most games in native 1080p. Mostly PSN games, of course. It was just a dream just like it is for PS5.
PS4 was the real 1080p machine… and PS6 will be the real 4k machine.
Even higher if you count flOw's 1440p.Fun fact: the PS3 actually was the console of its generation to run the most games in native 1080p. Mostly PSN games, of course.
Okami HD also was supersampled IIRC.Even higher if you count flOw's 1440p.

"The most games" is not same as "most games".Most games were 720p or lower.
With PS4 Sony archived most games at 1080p.
1080p was exception on PS3.
Non-1080p was exception on PS4.
IMO there is a clear difference in a console that have the option and another that delivery 1080p.
PS5 has the option for 4k but most games are sub4k just like 1080p with PS3.
I just compare PS consoles… Xbox only archived 1080p with Xbox One X in 2016 and MS tried to market it as a 4k machine."The most games" is not same as "most games".
Indeed 1080p games were a minority, but it did manage to have more games (albeit not graphically demanding) running in 1080p than the 360.
PS5 already does native 4K in almost all games at extremely stable 30 fps. It is just that people are obsessed with 60 fps.It was just a dream just like it is for PS5.
PS4 was the real 1080p machine… and PS6 will be the real 4k machine.
They are 1440p machines when you consider 60 fps. If you want fare comparisons with PS3 and PS4 then you need to consider 30 fps at which PS5 does native 4kI just compare PS consoles… Xbox only archived 1080p with Xbox One X in 2016 and MS tried to market it as a 4k machine.
Reality this gen are showing what you need for 4k and it is not this gen hardware… well maybe mid-gen refresh but the hardware tech is moving very slow… most Pro plans are probably very delayed already.
The biggest issue that gen? 1080p doesn’t look good in 4k panel… TVs manufacturers jumped to 4k when they should have mastered 1440p first
PS5 and Series X are 1440p machines.
merge it with this oneOkay guys, quick question, should I post parts 2 and onwards on this thread, or make dedicated ones for each part?
Update OP then bump this thread up. Let's keep things tidy.Okay guys, quick question, should I post parts 2 and onwards on this thread, or make dedicated ones for each part?
