Even when looking at this year alone where XSX should be showing its on paper advantage by now plenty of games perform better on PS5, Hogwarts Legacy, Dead Island 2, Star Wars Jedi Survivor, Atomic Heart and most embarrassing of all (after a year delay and now 1st party studio) Ghostwire Tokyo.
Diablo is near identical on the high end machines despite XSX having on paper 2TF advantage and costing MS more in silicon costs. That's an L if we're keeping count.
This is very old and things changed...
1st year= most games have some advantage on Series X even so some notable AAA names were better on PS5.
2nd year = things become tied.
This year / 3rd year = PS5 is basically having advantage in most face-offs.

Through last year (June 2022) a total of 2 games were better on PS5. So no, it wasn’t “tied” last year. It was 8-2 in favor of Xbox. This year alone there have been multiple, like Dead Space remake, RE4, now Diablo 4.This is very old and things changed...

RE4 had better performance and controls on PS5.
There is an aberation filter that got fixed... so the IQ that was a point for Series X become basically the same.
BTW the point you listed 3 games where 2 are questionable (RE4 is better on PS5 and Diablo 4 is basically a tie) just confirms the situation that you quoted.

couple that with the fact that PS5s VRR doesn’t work under 48fps and it’s not even close.

No the dead zones were not fixed.
The IQ was just different and worst on PS5 due a scanline filter but it was removed or added option to on/off if I'm not wrong.
PS5 version still has better performance and no dead zone.
DF itself says the PS5 is the better version.
About the basically a tie is because others games where PS5 didn't have any 1fps drop while Xbox had (there a lot of examples) the Xbox fans used as tie so I"m using the same arguments.
In fact Diable 4 has the same 1fps drop in both version... the PS5 is a bit more frequenty than Series X but both are pretty solid with their 60fps implementation.
Face offs this day and age are stupid. Most games run the same on both machines and when they don’t, it’s the developers fault.
And most of the time, when it’s on Xbox it’s because devs aren’t using enough resources to optimize for that console and because directx is garbage. But again, developer’s fault.

I’ll post proof later. In the meantime, show proof thAt PS5 games are better. I already shows proof Xbox games beat out PS5 8-2 as of one year ago.

What proof? Most DF foundry face-off this year had cleary advantage on PS5.
In February Richard even had a video saying that from now he expected most games releasing in 2023 to run better on PS5.
And that turned true.
If you look at the games you will see a clear advantage with like 70-80% of the games released this year being better on PS5.
These are facts that XBox fans try to deny living from the past face-offs.
