Now don't get me wrong, I'm experienced when it comes to hardware and software. But I also have an idiot friend, which I helped him build his PC on a discord video call. No knowledge of hardware at all. It all worked out for him, and have had no issues in the last year and a half.

AMD 3700x
Nvidia RTX 3080
32gb of 3200mhz Trident ram
1tb ssd for windows
2tb ssd for games
4tb for storage, older games, cars (porn), etc.

Not a single issue.


PC 's generally won't have issues, unless you did something wrong or a game needs an update. But if your computer keeps grieving you over and over, just sell it off, as it's not the hardware, but you.

Look at steam forums and pcgamingwiki. There is usually a quirk and few tweaks recommended for a game.
Its the little things and tweaks. Stutter so do this, launch in border less because this, switch to dx11 because this. Forcing af x16 breaks this in this game. And then windows crap.

I am not talking about hardware issues. You think the only annoyances and problems can be with hardware? Sure it can. I did had to replace motherboard and so on. But it’s something you deal with occasionally. My pc is perfect and quiet for years now. But the 3700x and x570 launch left me annoyed.
Buy for me it’s the little things, fcking stores, drms and tweaks required.

Play pc for a week. Install few games and follow every step you do. I started to notice little things and they bunch up. After years and years. I just had my fill and I don’t have any patience for yet another store exclusives, yet another “this driver breaks this game”, yet another error hunt on line. Yet another stuttering, mouse acceleration.
It’s always the same story. Look at ff7 remake launch on pc, Elden ring and every game. It’s always something.

And it’s not a problem. I go to pcgamingwiki, check the tweak, apply and go. But I feel like a fool doing so on 10x more expensive machine that maybe will get 30 more fps when I fix the game.

Anyway - I joined this forum to avoid people like you. You repeatedly show zero empathy and understanding. I have a pc for 25 years and I am tired of being annoyed by it and by users like you who don’t see it but turn it 180 and say I do something wrong. No! I see this because I do everything correct and I want good experience.
Lol btw my buddy got 3 monitors rig setup for racing. The amount of problems with this are insane. He almost wants to give up.
For me, the only problem is my pc forcing tv into allm but not too bad. Or every vr headset I had. Christ…. So many problems

I solve complicated problems daily in my work, when I want to game I have almost zero patience for it.
I optimize complex workflows local and cloud, try to squeeze all the perf possible out of the hardware, when I want to game I have almost zero patience for it.

I can easily say PC is not the premium place for me to play.

with these type of topics there should be some ground rules. premium place to play, what we are talking about? majority of gamers? 1% of gamers? is it about price? fps? resolution? or experience? convenient? performance? a lot of people have different kind of understanding what premium means in gaming, different perception.

this is just getting ridiculous at this point. PC gaming needs to get exclusive games of its own if its ever going to be taken as anything other than the low-class, no-exclusives, beggar-ridden pity port/cash in platform for less-than-serious, non-discerning gamers.

Dude I've been gaming on PC for 17 years, consoles for 22. What the hell are you doing on your PC to have THIS many issues? I'm seriously asking and I've been gaming on Linux since proton launched and when I read things like this it's like you're honestly looking for a reason to be annoyed. The only time I've used PC gaming wiki is for REALLY old games like Resident Evil 2 platinum.

It's like you're taking all these things you have to micromanage and then choosing to make it your experience lol. I look at it as being critical.
Stuff should be improving not other way around.
Windows is getting progressively worse for example.
I don't have many issues personally but I do kinda look out for them because I am a bit fed up with some of this usual crap like mouse acceleration, scaling issues, stuttering, incompalities and so on so on.
The gear alone is very good nowadays except for terrible power draw/heat.
And I have aversion to too many stores and death of physical media... but it's kinda fixed by pirate scene.

I don't feel obligated. I never signed any positions or anything of the sort. As matter a fact, Sony used to make games for PC, not sure if you knew that. Then there was a time when they didn't, and focused on their own stuff for PlayStation. Now they are going back to their roots, PC. They said it themselves that the games are coming, so it's not about feeling entitled for me.


Now let me ask you this, why do you feel entitled that Sony should only cater to PlayStation only? Why do you feel you should be the only ones who get to play said games, when Sony themselves want more people to play these same games, regardless of what hardware they have?


If you want these 60fps patches, or even higher framerate and graphics settings, why not get a PC? Is there an exclusive club or blood pact that needs to be signed in order to buy a PC that I'm not aware of? Literally anyone is free to buy one.


It works both ways, and more people will get to experience both sides of the fence this generation, as you can have all of the graphics fidelity & performances, without having to sacrifice either. Best part is, this won't take anything away from PlayStation fans, nor Sony's pockets. Win-win for everyone.
