It’s game back on for E3.

After a three-year absence, E3 — historically the game industry’s biggest confab — is scheduled to return to the Los Angeles Convention Center the second week of June 2023.

The Entertainment Software Association, the trade group that runs the convention, also announced a partnership to produce E3 2023 with ReedPop, the event-production company behind PAX, New York Comic Con, Star Wars Celebration and others.

It would be one for the ages if Nintendo, Sony and MSFT just did one really big effort and had an E3 next year. I think everyone would love that.

I'd definitely try to get there.

Bring back the boot babes! I alway took some days off from work just to watch some of the streams at midnight back then. I miss these moments but on the other hand, it was a lot of info in 24 hours.

Eventually, I also ran out of sleep hours, especially now with a toddler around.

As a warmblooded male... I understand the desire. However there is no chance, not these days.

Even though I am of the mind that it takes job opportunities away and the choice to do those jobs from women.

Nah they basically hired escorts, which would get other work anyway, it's not as if they only did e3 and gaming events. But I'd let them come back, if we can get some hot male bods in return! 😂

Regarding E3, I think it should have:
  • Digital main conferences: -canned streams, no need to make it live or presential- from at least Sony, Nintendo, MS, Ubisoft, Capcom, Square
  • Digital indie game events: Devolver conference, Day of Devs, PC gaming show, Limited Run, etc
  • All the digital main events would be fit in a single week
  • A clear and single calendar would be made public listing all these digital events, making sure they don't overlap each other
  • This full calendar would be announced at least a week or two before it starts
  • Giant expo area open to the public with thousands of stations to play, learn Gamescom and aim for at least 200K people
  • All the big publishers would have games there, if don't have upcoming ones to show, put recently released games to promoted
  • A huge representation of indie games in the stands. Not only for the ones who signed with the console makers or publishers like Devolver: make a giant indie (curated) area where small indies from all around the world can show their game there for free without even need to travel there
  • Business area to arrange meetings between devs and publishers or investors
  • Press area to arrange interviews. Or better: let the press send the questions online during a day or so (so they don't even need to travel there) and then merge them and reply all the questions on a video publicly posted online for each game
  • The first couple of days or so would be for pro only (publishers, devs, press, streamers/youtubers/influencers, etc), then there would be two or three days open to the public
  • Top tier cosplay contest during the public days
  • eSports competitions durin the public days
  • E3 Demo events at PSN, XBL, eShop and Steam/Epic with tons of the demos playable in the event, would be available for at least a month

Are you in fact organizing E3 next year? :p

Sounds like a great plan.

Nah, I'd include booth babes xD

And I'd celebrate presential E3s (its public part) at the same time in multiple cities around the world at the same time: LA, NY, Sao Paulo, Barcelona, Paris, London, Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Sydney.
