Do you realize that the image of the rendered virtual screen will have to be displayed on a 2000 x 2040 screen and won't even take up all those pixels right?what.
It's 0 reason. Playing 2d image on a flat screen in void does not consume as much resources as you think
Sony isn't alone in the market, the Oculus Quest exists and setting the price too high is the perfect way too kill the PSVR2.Duh.
PSVR $399*
PS4 Pro $399
PS4 $299
PSVR2 $499
PS5 $499
PS5 DE $399
*And PSVR really cost even more.
It was $399 for just the headset:
+ $59 camera (required)
+ $99 Move controllers (basically required)
= $560 launch price for PSVR
Now imagine going from $560 to just $500 with far better specs, not to mention a parts shortage and inflation. Meanwhile, the PS5 rose in price by $100 compared to PS4. I can’t see it being below $499 at launch since the controllers are included. Maybe a $399 option for just the headset later on, with $99 controllers optional. But I can’t even see how that would work.
