What about that one dude who always vagueposted on Twitter, pretending to be some insider? Kept implying the PS5 has serious design flaws and the Series X and S had some super secret hidden tech in it?
Blue something?
He used to have quite the following for a while when the current gen was approaching and at least a bit after it started.

Bro... he's one of the reasons I was a bot for so long. He had me convinced that the Xbox One was more powerful than the PS4 I checked his website out again a few months ago and they're still over there brainwashedNo "mistermediax"? The epitome of paid schill and the godfather of all the trolls lying and trolling against Sony today?? No way. I'm sure some posters on all these forums have an altar dedicated to him and he is still very much active lol
Watching the MBG podcast from today and at 47:00 mark. MBG says that he first thought Ryan's tweet was good but after thinking about it and seeing the reaction by the majority, it went the other way because majority of people including myself don't see that tweet as trying to defend Sony or PlayStation for fans or gamers, it was trying not to lose a massive cash cow for the company which anyone should be able to see from a mile away.
Sony and Jim Ryan do look weak after that tweet because you're number one. You've dominated for 25+ years and yet, you fear losing COD? Wow. I thought it was all about their first party studios and their amazing exclusives? I guess not. I guess it's all about COD. lol
I'm still watching but yeah, I get what MBG is saying and have been following him for 3+ years since I joined Twitter and he says that he's a PlayStation fan because of their studios and their amazing exclusives. He's not a PlayStation fan because of COD or because of how much money Sony makes off COD.
His frustration was at Microsoft first for not making Halo back to what it was, the premiere FPS and instead acquired ABK in order to get COD and to build their subscription service and their studios. But his frustration is no longer there. His opinion on Microsoft acquiring ABK or anyone for that matter doesn't matter anymore. He says it's not about right or wrong. It's about them doing whatever they're going to do and when he talks to Xbox fans, they tell him how is what Microsoft doing unfair? And he explains that for years Sony has paid for exclusivity which somehow was fair because it hurt Microsoft and Xbox but because Microsoft is now doing the same but at a whole other level that Sony can't match, why is that all of a sudden unfair?
He says that it doesn't matter because his opinion or anyone's for that matter will not block the ABK deal and that's it. People asked Microsoft to compete and like MBG says, they're finally doing it. He then says that Microsoft passed on having an exclusive deal with Marvel and that they probably could have outbid for Final Fantasy but they didn't. He doesn't claim that what Microsoft or Sony has done or will do is right or wrong. He's simply saying that the exclusivity that Sony has done isn't comparable to what Microsoft is doing.
I agree with MBG including what Microsoft is doing not being comparable to what Sony has done but at the same time, it shouldn't be compared at all because Sony pays for exclusivity for games that they don't own while Microsoft will own ABK and can do whatever they want with them. More importantly, ABK went to Microsoft looking to sell because Kotick obviously wants to get one last major payday and then he's gone. Point being is that both companies do the exact same shit. It's just that Microsoft has gone nuclear but at the same time, why wouldn't they acquire ABK if they're going to them looking to sell? No one in their right mind would pass that up including Sony because why would you? Because a few thousand people who are basically nobodies are going to cry about it. Nah.
Anyway, on topic, MBG shouldn't be on the list at all. He's a PlayStation gamer because of their first party studios and exclusives, not for COD and simply doesn't care about it either way. Stopped at 58:00. Unless I missed something, I don't get it. If anything, I don't think he cares either way because ABK and COD isn't why he bought a PS5. It's because of Sony's first party studios and amazing exclusives which also applies to me. lol
EDIT: Watched a few more minutes and MBG says that he doesn't feel sorry for Sony which I agree with because I didn't feel sorry for Microsoft last generation and he says that if Sony had the money and opportunity to do the same, does he believe that they would and he says God damn right they would and he's right. They would. It's smart business regardless of what company is making the acquisition.
If anything, it simply comes down to which brand you're a fanboy of and if it's your side, you love it and if it's not, you hate it. It's that simple.

People are missing why it is 'anti-competitive' and not focusing on the word 'anti-competitive'...
It is IMO anti-competitive because of Microsoft as a company has had a monopoly for decades in operating systems and office software, resulting in profits of on average 50 billion net per year. This is equal to the entire console market value, where there are now only 2 home consoles and in english speaking markets it is pretty close to 50/50, especially in the US.
The pressing issue is that the console market, where a lot of the AAA games are sold, where if one player was pushed out or undermined by a sudden swing in the market, it turns into yet another monopoly for Microsoft.
Buying one of the biggest publishers before Zenimax was pretty much unprecedented and now trying to buy 2.... one of them being THE biggest publisher in gaming is too unpredictable, too much risk for a market that is already dangerously close to turning into a monopoly from a duopoly.
People also dont consider the closeness between EA and MSFT, who have always shared executives and supported one another.... EA is already a part of Gamepass and not PSPlus, so that is another aspect that needs to be considered in the overall view of the market.
MSFT already subsidize Xbox massively, obfuscate their accounts by fusing Xbox with 'devices' and hiding expenses like marketing and promotions in a single category for all of MSFT.... so Xbox could potentially be losing billions or tens of billions while PlayStation has to at least break-even to make it worth being in the industry for Sony.
If this acquisition goes through you have to see MSFT own Zenimax, Activision-Blizzard and have a strategic alliance with EA, leaving only Ubisoft and TakeTwo as the remaining major western publishers..... There is very little on the table for others to ever make the industry a level playing field in the west again... and fewer companies still with the money and market position to do so.
MBG is just seeing the fanboy side of this, the 'who came out of that sounding like the bigger man' type stuff....
It really doesn't matter if Jim sounded weak, he is not going in their to score a soundbite victory.
They never had a Call of Duty game? Of course they have.In my opinion, it's the opposite of anti-competitive because they're finally doing what they should have done 20 years ago. Use their money. Like any company should. What's the point in being a trillion dollar company if you can't use your money to your advantage?
There's 3 home consoles on the market. I know a lot of people don't like to count Nintendo but they've never had a COD game as far as I know and they've dominated two out of their last three generations. Not having COD on their platform doesn't seem to hurt them whatsoever.
Sony isn't going anywhere with or without COD. It would only be a monopoly if Microsoft were to acquire Sony or Nintendo or vice versa. And this isn't happening.
Zenimax was looking to sell. Had multiple bidders including Google and if you're Microsoft, what are you supposed to do? Say no? Come on. Same applies to ABK. Kotick went to Microsoft. And like Zenimax, what are they supposed to do? Say no? Come on.
EA went to Sony for EA Access and Sony passed on having it on PlayStation for years. EA is close with Microsoft because for the PS4 generation, Sony was close with ABK and Microsoft was close with EA which even goes back to Xbox 360.
There's plenty of other publishers. You missed out WB/Discovery which is going to become bigger. There's still EA which is also looking to sell by the way. You have Ubisoft and Take Two Interactive. Zenimax was on the selling block for over 2 years. When you're looking to sell for that long, it's because you're losing money and eventually, if you can't sell, then what happens? Bankruptcy. I easily and by far prefer Microsoft acquiring Zenimax because im a fan of Arkane, Tango, Machine and to a lesser extent Id. I didn't want them going anywhere so hell yeah to Microsoft acquiring them and keeping them alive. What happens if they went bankrupt and died? Sony and PlayStation would STILL be short an AAA western publisher and even worse, there future games wouldn't exist.
As for ABK, im not a fan of them and would have preferred Ubisoft, WB or EA easily because they have way more games that I want to play. Outside of Diablo IV, ABK has nothing for me but I am happy that Microsoft acquired ABK for a few reasons -
1. I don't want to see every fucking studio they have working on only COD. Fuck that. Microsoft is the only gaming company that can make COD exclusive while also making it a platform instead of an annual series. Build one game and add to it. This is something im hoping for because ABK has some damn good studios and it's either they stay as they were meaning you don't get shit except for COD and maybe a Blizzard game or two every generation OR they can actually get those studios to make other fucking games which im all for. Because as of now, outside of Diablo IV, they have nothing for me but if they start to work on other franchises, games and/or new IP's, there's at least 50/50 shot those games are for me where as right now, they're 100% not for me because all they do is work on COD.
2. Any future games including Diablo IV that I get, I no longer have to buy because why would I? I don't give two shits about Microsoft's money or Sony's money or anyone's money except my own. I want what's best for me personally. Getting all their future games on Game Pass day one is great for me.
In general, I have no problem with Microsoft acquiring publishers or studios because quite honestly, it's better for me personally ad that's all I care about. If it makes Microsoft and Xbox dominant, awesome. If it all blows up in their face, oh well. I will enjoy it all while it lasts.
There's also plenty of other publishers in the world of gaming. Buying a few of them isn't going to change much if anything because other publishers will simply step up and because a few major AAA publishers are gone, those gaps are now there for the taking. Maybe it's Embracer or Focus or someone else. But for me, I want to see which AA publisher will elevate themselves to AAA because they now have the opening to do so.
For me personally, I see the Zenimax and ABK acquisitions as a positive. For Zenimax, I looked at it to where the studios I like are still alive and well which makes me happy as a gamer because im interested in several of their future games. If they went bankrupt or died, obviously, I wouldn't be thrilled about it. For ABK, I see it as a positive because Microsoft has the money to where like you said, absorb losses and I don't care if they hide their Xbox money in this or that. I don't give two shits. What I do care about is that under Microsoft, the potential is there for all those other studios that have been stuck on fucking COD for years and years can finally do other games and I welcome this 100%.
They've never had a Call of Duty game? Have you seen the methods they used to help cement their cornering of the PC OS market? It's wild.People are missing why it is 'anti-competitive' and not focusing on the word 'anti-competitive'...

Not only is this a complete wall of nonsense (you think MS is going to successfully improve how CoD appeals to gamers that like it? Good grief), but it's everything wrong with what MS is doing. You want them to take it exclusive AND you don't want to pay for it anymore. In my opinion, it's the opposite of anti-competitive because they're finally doing what they should have done 20 years ago. Yeah, people like you are really helping the game industry be a thriving place for businesses to be.
BTW, you think this is better for you personally but I guarantee you it's not. Not in the long run. You will end up getting higher monthly sub prices, lower quality games, and less to pick from if MS succeeds. You are so blinded by what they are doing you can't see the forest for the trees.
