Npds are tomorrow correct?
Yeah, and ms financials next week for the extra added kick in the balls to Xbox. We just need the CMA to deal the KO.

They tried to sell it to Samsung at the end of the 360 generation and the deal fell through, so imagine how much steeper the odds would be now.
Their console operation if pretty much worthless, the only thing keeping it going is the fact that they are ok pumping money into it. Anyone buying Xbox at this point would be going third party and at best would keep producing peripherals like gamepads for PC.

To MS it's probably much better to go third-party as a publisher than to sell their gaming division.

MS stubbornness to make it as a console manufacture is actually impressive, 20+ years of getting stomped.

It’s WORSE than worthless.

It’s a massive money pit that has drained nearly $100 BILLION DOLLARS out of MS over the past 23 years.

No other company could sustain the losses of one year of Xbox operation without serious problems.

The money they spent is not necessarily lost, Bethesda, ABK and their other studios still have value (for now, Phil Spencer will likely destroy most of that value over time) .

I think that the entire operation could be a lot more profitable/sustainable if they just got rid of Xbox and dialed it down with Gamepass.

The problem is MS has to come up with all these unrealistic plans to dominate the market that just end up making things worse for everyone. For as much as MS talks about Cloud, PC, mobile, they just can't let go of the idea of beating Sony.

It actually funny, Sony is very stingy with SIE, they mostly used the profits from SIE to help the other struggling subsidiaries while MS is extremely generous with a division that pretty much struggled for most of it's 20+ years of existence. Sony mostly holds PlayStation back while MS pumps a lot of money to keep Xbox going.

I think since Microsoft did go on a buying spree, from one multi-platform studio after another and two publisher in a row, there must have been a rude awakening for Sony’s higher ups. They truly underestimated the PlayStation division and how lucrative the gaming-industry itself is. Hell even the Sony Pictures CEO said that there is no more big grow to expect for movie and cinema. Gaming-industry is the largest and most profitable industry in the entertainment area. It’s on first place even before music. Sony needed nearly 3 decades to understand this.

ABK is 3 publishers. ABK is part of a group. IF MS/ABK merger goes through, then MS will have bought total of 4 publishers.

Gaming is Sony largest division but that does not mean Sony other divisions are struggling.

The PS4 released 10 years ago and all it's success did not translate into big investments in gaming until recently. For years they were just closing studios, giving up on portables, cutting costs.

Even now PlayStation only has 2 studios in Japan. SIE should've been their priority number one all along

That’s why Sony will very likely buy a publisher themselves when Activision Blizzard King is approved. Investors will pressure them probably to do something. They must consolidate their partners (Square Enix & Capcom) in order to protect their business.

I think that's just par for the course for japanese companies headed by the old guard...hell konami still makes more of their game IPs into pachinko machines than actual games

If rumors are true May there will be a big showcase, unless they want it in June? Now that MS is going in June, makes sense to have something in May.

June is so jam packed with titles I would want to showcase stuff before all that,

Jeff Grubb and a couple others were alluding to something closer. End of May or FIrst week of June before Summer Game fest. He;'s not the only person reporting on this.

The fact a lot of little stuff has leaked tells me a lot of these games, are going to be in it and most likely content/video has already been submitted.
Basically every year Sony had their summer conference in early June, during pre-E3 days. So very likely Sony will have a State of Play there. No need to be an insider to know that.

These guys say May, and if not happening will say June, and if not will say July, etc. as always. Because sooner or later Sony will have a State of Play.

Is Sony going to call it PS Showcase? Not sure, I bet they won't. They can make a really hyping normal State of Play event with mostly known games (FFXVI launch trailer, Spider-Man 2, Death Stranding 2, Wolverine, TLOU Online) and a couple of big announcements of exclusive games (Firewalk game, Helldivers 2) and some multi with marketing deal (MK12 if not announced at EVO, AC Mirage). Could also announce that PS cloud gaming is also coming to smartphones and tablets or some accesory, or the PS5 slim/detachable disc drive SKU.

Interesting, I didn't expect RE4R to perform that well. What GSA countries mean? Germany + what else?

Edit: I assume it's Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
