Hulst himself praised the game and team highly a good two years ago.
I believe during the acquisition hulst said that concord was innovative in multiplayer mixing singleplayer type story telling in the universe & said that PS fans would be surprised/like the game at firewalk I can’t fully remember the quote exact

Around 2020-2022 everybody was busy buying big-named studios, IPs and publishers while Sony bought garage no-name PC/Gaas trash no one cares about, only to shut them down 2 years later.

Imagine all the cheap opportunities they had during the gold rush. Arc System, CD Project, From, Capcom, Square 😢

I'm rooting for Marathon because Bungie are good developers but everything else 😬
This timeline could single handly & fundamentally negatively impact Sony/PS to a degree we’ve never seen.

Nintendo is well positioned to completely merk Xbox out the market & dent PS. IF & I say IF Nintendo Switch 2 has power anywhere near PS4 PS is for a rude awakening. Seeing games like mainline major Monster Hunter, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Persona, Yakuza, Arc System work, Fromsoft etc release day 1 or just within the 1st year witch isn’t far fetch will certainly take away market share w Nintendo online being $60 cheaper + having massive & REAL PERMANENT exclusive like the next Smash, Mario Kart 9, Mario Party, Zelda, Metroid, Splattoon, Pokemon etc it’s not looking good I’d argue spooky & worse then PS3 gen or even worse then Xbox one/series. Where seeing a shift that would happen which your already seeing w publisher pushing more multiplat I could see a future where Nintendo is the focus platform & these 3rd party games having exclusive dlc using Nintendo ip that makes the Nintendo version that more appealing such as Elden Ring 2 having exclusive Zelda dlc for Nintendo Switch
2 players or Zeno chronicles having a collab w the Final Fantasy 17 version of Switch 2 etc

If I was Sony/PS I’d take a script from MS/Xbox & consolidate. Secure PS future & secure studios w history cadence & ip. This ofc is something PS should’ve done back in 2020 when MS acquire Zenimax. It’s not like these publisher will cost cheaper in the future if you want to acquire anyway & these exclusive deals are spending high amount of money for something you ultimately don’t own or control. Exclusive deals will become harder as publisher question why do exclusive deals when PS themselves don’t even keep there games exclusive & not release on PC day one but on Nintendo Switch day one. Ultimately PS has fucked themselves for short term profits at the demise of long term competitiveness & long term profits, growth & stability

It is weird to see them wanting to see games fail just because... FairGame$ should probably be rebranded but I def don't wanna see it fail.
Can you blame them? Seems PS/Sony doesn’t trust building the PS platform & storefront to compete against there competitor & no comparing PS to Xbox as of Xbox is even a real competitor anymore is something to be ashamed of. It’s like comparing a athlete from the nba & calling high school basketball players that are on pcp & fent competitors to nba

Neon Koi was another useless purchase and rebrand. Zero release. Sony is just being stupid with the GAAS and PC push. The brand is beyond recognizable.

Astrobot the last hurrah for the 30th Anniversary 😬
Yeah idk why Sony bought that mobile studio. They had zero ip & zero cadence of successful releases. Wasted like what 2-3 years w em. Better of buying Hoyoverse or someone smaller like Halfbrick (Fruit Ninja/Jet pack joyride) or looking at Japan & Korea that have tons of mobile studios with ip/cadence & get them working on PS ip such as inFAMOUS, Demon Slayer, Demon Souls. Imagine a genshin impact anime open world clone that release on PS4, PS5 & Mobile & fill those game w anime waifus that game would go nuts & bolster the PS hardware w cute/anime game using there beloved ip target Asia region but also western/europe by making it available on PS consoles. Smh not sure what PS leadership & Sony was think.

I could see firesprite be next even if there making singleplayer games there rumor to be working on until dawn which no one ask for & seeing the until dawn remake perform simultaneously across PS & PC yeah I’d be worry for them to. It’s very likely until dawn 2 is day n date on PC day 1 that how little faith I have in PS & how much faith PS likely has w firesprite & until dawn 2. Could’ve put that money into twisted metal & making that AA singleplayer/multiplayer rogue like w a pvp live service component maybe even making it more of a mobile game releasing on PS & Mobile simultaneously by making it more artistic & top down like hades

Hermen has shit taste, he needs to go.
He’s the guy that won’t force guerrilla or at the very least create a second team for Killzone.

Mind you a new Killzone in this market would bang there’s hardly any sci fi military shooter on consoles & ps needs diversity in its line up. A new Killzone would at the very least sell 5+ million significantly more then concord that he crown “his baby” god the fact if those rumored are true that Herman thought concord (terrible name) was anywhere close to Star Wars deserves his nuts to be clip & axe out w a lawsuit from investors

They had MAG which simply needed a PS4 remaster / relaunch.
Sony could’ve capitalized off the failures of Battlefield 2042 w a MAG reboot free to play large scale military shooter featuring clan wars. Smh that would be awesome & it would full fill in the expansion of PC through live service

The game should have never been killed in the first place. Just relaunched on PS4. The only thing that held it back was the PS3 architecture and the fact PS3 simply was not the console to get multiplayer franchises going that gen

PS4 relaunch right at launch would have been great. They would have went up against Battlefield 4 but it would have survived

Killzone had a PS4 launch title, didn't it?

Edit: Oh, you're talking MAG, lol.

I pretend Shadow Fall doesn't exist because I refuse to believe the same team made Killzone 2 Multiplayer... Specifically 'Warzone'. Now COD has pretty much coined that name when Warzone was easily better than anything COD ever did

Sony made some panic purchases after Xbox went on its spending spree including these flops and the Jade Raymond studio

Good chance Raymond's game doesn't even make it to launch

They should have been buying Koji Pro, From Software and Arrowhead

Passing up buying Fromsoftware has to hurt in retrospect. Ultimately, they now own a % share of the company, but obviously not as much as they once could've.

All the same, I actually think Kadokawa's been a pretty healthy parent company for Fromsoftware.

It was expected after what happened.

Loud weirdo gamers really killed a talented studio.
We don't see games with suck good gameplay in years and when one is released it face the cancel culture of social media.

Sadly.
No. Not sadly. They knew they were taking a risk and with it they pissed in their own Cornflakes.
The game didnt land well with the general audience. Don't blame people who saw this coming from miles away and voiced their opinion.

Blame fucking Sony/ Firewalk for doing a "LALALALALALALA dont wanna listen!"

Gamers voted with their wallets and Sony lost this ballot. Stop moving goalposts and accept that your beloved brand went and fucked up big time.

I played the beta and liked the mechanics. But I hated the character models. Just like 99,999999% of players. Wanna blame them all?
Nah mate, blame Sony.

Say Tesla brings out a horrid looking car and no-one buys it. Gonna blame the drivers? That's beyond fucked up.

I want everyone to enjoy games. Being it Concord or whatever and im genuinly sorry that you cant enjoy it anymore. Honestly. :)

But if the game had any outstanding features or mechanics, people would have looked past the characters. But there was nothing there other then a generic GaaS title with tight controls. And that alone isnt enough to warrant success.

They made an excellent FPS game that has VERY bad character designs. The audience it gathered were grifters and their goons shitting on it quickly and overpowered the small community who wanted to enjoy a new game. Sad ending overall.
So the majority has spoken. Thats democracy for ya and it just works.
