Sad but not surprised. They were owned by GameStop and with all of the problems GameStop has had it was only inevitable that Game Informer was going to get the door shut on them.

Sad but again bot surprised. I was a long time stay with gameinformer but have stopped with Gamestop alltogether in recent years. Plus the articles and news were so far behind and opinions were as bad as IGN and Kotaku
