It's also Microsoft's fault for false advertising the Series S as the Series X but at 1440p, which was always going to be a lie. Consumers shouldn't need to have a master's degree in understanding gaming hardware when picking a gaming console, Microsoft was relying on people not understanding what they were buying to sell it. Honestly cannot stand the company, it's so scummy and always trying to fool people into believing they're "pro-consumer" meanwhile loading up the consoles they paid for with unskippable ads and other bullshit, then cultivating a fanbase that actively cheers for this shit like an actual cult. You get what you fucking deserve for buying Series Shit.
720 is perfectly playable on a TV screen in 2025? We operated it on Switch because the screen is tiny, but 720p on a 4k screen is terrible. I think it’s going to be 1080p with frame drops and reduced geometry, effects, etc.My guess is that the game will be 720p at 30FPS. Perfectly playable for those who own an Xbox Series S.
I’d bet the delay is due to GTA Online not being ready. I think single player is done. The leaked video 2 years ago was super solid and the most recent video looked like a completed game.I hope delays haven't been because of that piece of shit “next gen” hardware. They should do a Baldurs Gate 3 or Wu Kong and skip if its gonna be a hassle
Fun fact: GTA Vice City had a budget of $5M for development and $13.2M for marketing.
I assume they'll spend more money than this to optimize it and try to fit it into less powerful hardware like Series S, SteamDeck and mid/low specs PCs. I assume it will run there at some awful resolution like 540p upscales with someting to a higher resolution, without RT and with some highly inferior lighting.
The Xbox Series S version should give us an idea of the minimum PC specs.
CPU : i5-10400F or Ryzen 3700X
GPU : RTX 3050 8GB
RAM : 16 GB
SSD @ 2.4GB/s
Just a reminder that reddit is heavily astroturfed and bottedReading some of the comments in the leaks subreddit about developers hesitating to port to Xbox consoles because of them going multiplatform, it was so noticeable how briefed a part of the gaming community became in defending multiplatform.
They couldn't believe that a console's relevance will slowly fade when they have no exclusivity, but they are so used to complaining against exclusives that the idea alone of seeing doubts against multiplatform will truly rattle them.
It is bizarre to see how only in a few years, PC players and Xbox players were raised by Microsoft to be against exclusivity, and every platform who dares to keep exclusives, is immediately anti consumer and deserves to be pirated.
I have no idea, but very likely will spend hundreds of millions of dollars. They will sell a ton of millions of copies, so will be worth it.How much do they need on marketing GTA6?

But naw bro, 720p is not perfectly playable without DLSS/FSR upscaling in 2025 let alone 2026 when this releases.
People shouldn’t be plopping their kids in front a Series S playing GTA6, so that group is out. If it’s a secondary console, people used to 4k on PS5 or XSX are going to vomit looking at 720p. I had a Series S and I let my cousin download Fortnite, watched him play a little bit, and I traded that thing in for an XSX the next day. That shit looks terrible.Depends on who's playing it. Xbox Series S is for those with kids and you plop in front of a TV with Game Pass and that's it OR it's a secondary console for someone who's primary is a PlayStation 5/Xbox Series X. Point being that for those who play on a Series S, they just want to be able to play the game. If they cared about the high end stuff, they would own an Xbox Series X/PlayStation 5/PlayStation 5 Pro/PC.
