Who remembers when Jim Ryan tried to charge $70 for this game, after promising it'd be $60, and then being forced to walk back on it? 😂😂 That generated so much negative press for the game that it turned off a lot of people from buying it. And then the idiots put it on PS Plus after less than a year of sales 😂

This game has been set up to fail by incompetente leadership since day 1.
Such wonderful game. Pity really. They devalued great IP.

Plenty of games have denuvo and run perfectly fine. The notion that denuvo ruins PC performance is just a lie perpetuated by pirates. It used to be somewhat true, but hasn't been the case in years.
I think most peoples issue with denuvo is that it runs in Kernel level, so it has complete access to your software and your hardware.
Meaning that if somehow someone breaches your pc trhough denuvo they have access to your entire computer.

that's denuvo anti cheat, single player games use denuvo anti-tamper, which doesn't have kernel access.

And PC players being worried about devs having kernel level access is also just BS, look at helldivers 2 lmao.... same with almost every big PC game, Fortnite, League of Legends, Valorant, etc.

Well this should keep the No Denuvo crowd happy.

It’s all about performance.

Quickest to pirate.

Honestly I have no idea who makes the decision regarding these releases.

Not only No Denuvo but a day before Dragons Dogma 2.

Horizon always seems to release during the same time another massive RPG releases.

BOTW, Elden Ring and now DD2 I believe.

Well done to that team.

Helldivers 2 had the perfect release date. It was delayed to miss many big hitters including SM2.

Helldivers 2 wasn't delayed to miss big hitters, it's almost certainly for a polish reason.
It's not like the launch and/or the bugs for the game weren't numerous at launch. Just imagine it had launched a few months earlier like it was first supposed to. Would have not been pretty.

As to who set those release dates, one would have to guess some folks at SIE publishing are responsible for that.
Why not pushed the release of this title on PC? If I had to guess, it's because it's right at the end of the fiscal year, and we all know how these suits at publishing companies just love to think short term to boost up those numbers.

30 seconds? Clickbait headline.

I would like to know how many people own the original on PS5 and didn't want to double dip?

Maybe, As GabeN says, this is a service problem.

How is this crap okay?
its not. I always make the case for emulating games that are no longer avaliable, but not only if something is avaliable you SHOULD ALWAYS buy it, IT JUST FUCKING CAME OUT.
you cant be more trash than that

Gabe the goat, remember that every ps3 copy of Portal 2 came with a code to get the game free on steam?

The CCU for that version must be higher than the flop Steam version 🤣

Good for the Johnny Depps, Sony is always ready to throw away their shit on PC for free. They must have their cocks in the air reading this news.

That's how it should be. You buy a game digitally on one platform, you can use it in on multiple systems.

Buy physical? Only works on that hardware.

It would encourage companies to promote physical over digital.

i like the whole getting a pc code thing, maybe it can work if you have to link your account in order for it to work, but then agian, digital solves that by default.

Yeah but why paint with such broad strokes encompassing all of us PC players when you can say something along the lines of "people who do this are trash" instead.

You guys get away with so much of this junk around here, and for a growing community it will inhibit said growth. It's reading like GameSpot System Wars more than a forum to take seriously with the double standards.

I love all of the people here pretending that this is the entirety of the PC playerbase. It just tells me you know absolutely nothing about PC, let alone Steam which is way easier to grasp.

There are groups/people like Fairlight who are paid to do these things, it's kind of crazy how fast it was to get cracked in the first place (not saying its okay) but why was it so easy? Did they not have any anti-piracy measures at all?

The game will definitely sell more than it's pirated, but it also depends on the country, too. Some countries are statistically prone to pirating games/media more because prices are extortionate. (Still doesn't make it okay)

they're actually not, because this game is selling quite well on Steam in spite of a pirate version existing.

okay then... let me rephrase it.
PC pirates are trash. you know what I mean and if you buy your shit legally you're okay and I'm clearly not talking about you.
But hey, if the shoe fits...

25k concurrent players, barely increased since 4pm UTC. Another flop on PC that only devalues the brand. I'll bet it has had more downloads than legitimate sales.

Sony really killed it this gen.
