Been noticing that too, and btw both services are trash and serve nothing to the gaming industry, if anything, it'll strengthen Microsoft/Sony plans which transcend gaming to cloud streaming, also we haven't gotten into the "day 1" releases of games into services... 💀

I detest services in gaming.

It was always funny to see the "blue rats" doing mental gymnastic to discredit Game Pass.

The reality was....They were just jelly.

I'm gonna say this:
I'm not a fan of any of these glorified rental services getting as much hype as they have overall. Simply not. I prefer ownership, and I would rather we as consumers push and incentivize it over pushing a company's sub service. All we're doing when we do that is pushing people toward a future where we really don't own even the things we buy. We should be fighting that fervently, full stop.

That being said, what PS+ is doing is easily the lesser offender in this scenario. They aren't pushing this service as their primary offering. They're not shoving their games in Day 1 and disincentivizing ownership. They're not promoting it as their future but as an option. And doing this all while frankly having the better overall selection of titles at a lower price.

So to that end, yes, I will say PS+ is better than Game Pass by a mile. I'm not gonna fanboy over it or push it as the primary reason to own the console anymore than I'd push GameFly or any other rental service. Shoot, I'm not even a fan of digital-only consoles and advocate against those too.

It's entirely possible to hold that service over GP though and still point out the issues with MS's GP strategy. They're not the same beast by any means.

Poor gamepass and Xbox fans. Lost the only thing they had going for them.
As expected. Just like when they spent years and years hyping Live Gold and paid online just for Sony to show up with PS+ and eat their lunch.

Why was MS under the impression they were hot shit with their game library service when their library is by the far the worst? When did they plan on start competing? In 5 years? In 10 years? Why did they only started to seriously invest on studios a few years ago?

Yeah, if first party games are the draw then they are failing incredibly on that front. Playstation has more new first party games on their service already even without day one releases
