Bend employee with the killshot.

bonus:

Thank goodness there are people with common sense saying some truth on this point. The people saying Xbox "needs" to exist to keep PlayStation competitive, IMHO just want Xbox to stay around.

I don't have a problem with that desire. I have a problem with those people being too scared to say it. A lot of them have been PlayStation-centric content creators/influencers/whatever too, whom I suspect were heavy 360 gamers who jumped to PlayStation last gen.

It's funny too because I keep saying Xbox console will very likely go away (and that's prob best for the industry), but Xbox hardware will very likely still exist. And people can't tell what I mean by that is the console business model (and everything inherent to it) Xbox as a brand has operated on the past two decades, being what goes away. A lot of the diehards can't separate the hardware box from the business model.

Since screenshots of my opinions have been circulated widely throughout X, it appears that at least some Xbox Religious Nutbags (or XRN for short) pay attention to what I write - either due to some masochistic fetish or because it stirs them up. I want to make this clear:

XRN have killed Xbox. You are the sole contributors to the demise of your favorite brand. For years, you have received nothing but subpar games (when they existed), subpar products, all while living off assurances that someday it would get better. You've taken it too far by molding your personality around your wannabe prophet, Phil Spencer, and his acolytes - proud members of the media and others with privileged access to HQ, all with a vested interest in keeping console wars alive.

Instead of demanding quality, you attacked those who chose not to purchase a plastic box like the one you cheer for. Rather than demanding more from a trillion-dollar company, you came up with excuses to justify Xbox's poor performance, blaming big, bad Sony—a company worth 30 times less. Instead of supporting developers as you claim, you jumped on the Game Pass train, despite warnings from those with half a functional brain that it would devalue gaming and lead to lesser quality. Instead of questioning the 10/10 scores from Xbox-adjacent websites for games that were reviewed in the 6s and 7s by other publications, you cheered for them.

You are now reaping what you've sown, and I'm delighted to see such a toxic fanbase in disarray as their religion collapses right before their eyes. You caused the brand's demise. Let this be a lesson for those who blindly follow brands.

And before you XRN even think about mentioning it, I'm primarily a PC gamer who owns a PS5 and a Switch. I don't care who develops the games, as long as I enjoy playing them. Unfortunately, Xbox hasn't produced quality games in quite a while, and no amount of astroturfing and paid reviews to pad Metacritic scores will change that.

My prediction of what they will say:
  • They continue supporting Xbox hardware, are working on the next gen and that are taking notes of current trends like AI and handheld PCs. May even announce the Series X Pro there. (Even if their real plan is to continue slowly moving their focus out of their console, something they won't say).
  • They will continue releasing Xbox full console exclusive games from MGS, but some of them -not all- will later after at least a year or two being released in rival console.
  • And that all future Zenimax or ABK games will be released in rival consoles either day one or after a timed exclusivity of a year or two, specially the IPs already published there.
  • They announce there the first two ones: Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves coming to PS5 soon and who knows if Switch too.
  • They say it's because they don't believe in console wars and want to bring their games to more players to allow their fans to play everywhere, and may even be a little honest mentioning their finantials need it because game budgets keep increasing and they already have been doing a huge efforts with acquisitions and putting games on GP day one. because they want to bring these games to more people, not to keep them away from other players (which would be a lie, the reason would be wanting to make more money)
  • They also announce there the first old Activision Blizzard games are coming to GP very soon, maybe that same day.
  • But mention that all future ABK titles, at least CoD, won't be day one in GP and that they will appear in rival game subs too partly because of they had to do it to make the acquisition possible.
  • They also mention that to keep Mojang, Zenimax and ABK (plus some MGS) multiplatform will help them with regulators in future meaty acquisitions they are working on.

Wait till you find out I don't even own an Xbox and your mindset is the one that needs to escape that capsule you speak of.
Whoa. Look at what I was going for.

They've kind of cratered already.

They are cratering but they're not dead either

At least one person is crawling out the escape capsule.

It’s a visual crash gag on the state of things, lol, which has been pretty rough. I don’t have individuals in mind or know anyone’s allegiances that well or give a shit.

Uncle Phil is announcing that Microsoft is actually buying SEGA. They'll rebrand Xbox to "SEGA" and immediately announce they are exiting the console space. That way 1. the Xbox name will remain untarnished* and 2. SEGA somehow dies twice.

It's far beyond regular 4D. It's 32X Chess.

*Some caveats may apply.
ngl that would be funny as fuck

I don't have allegiances with corporations and that was your first mistake in assuming shit about me in the first place. A dead system still doesn't sell 7+ million in a year. They've created but aren't fully dead yet. Absolutely nothing biased or fanboy-ish in what was said in my comment.

I choose to not live vicariously through console wars, you should try it.

So, if m$ buys their own stock, all 7M+, they are successful?
Do you know how economics works? Healthy business, profit?

Edited. Mind your language, no personal attacks.

Who was speaking on profit or economics? Look at you trying to sound all smart with no correlation.

I won't waste time even answering your stupid ass question

They sold 7+ million consoles last year, that means they aren't fully dead, sales are cratering. Literally nothing I said was wrong.

Probably the best idea to come out of this solution. I am xbox fan but always on the pc these days. I do play xbox time to time when i want to sit on the sofa.
