I'm playing Hellblade 2 right now. The game still has its moments of visual appeal, and it's still fun to listen to the little stories from the hidden stones.

However, I'm feeling like they didn't quite do enough to distinguish it from the first game. Also, given the narrative conclusiveness of the first, the second game's story does not feel quite as compelling.

May have more to say when the credits roll
Isn't that game all the criticism that "the order 1886" got but way worse?

@DarkLordOtaku the internet never forgets.

It's a technical showpiece, a graphical powerhouse that, in some ways, is almost without equal. It's also a short and disappointingly straightforward cover-based shooter that offers little to no variety in its encounter design, a lackluster story that fails to make good on its initially compelling premise, and a set of jarring Quick Time Event setpieces that aren't especially interesting from a gameplay or a storytelling perspective.

The Order: 1886 is a terrible game. Not because it’s broken or made without skill. Certainly not because it’s an average-length, story-driven shooter with minimal replay value. It’s just a bad game, forgettable in every conceivable way and safely ignored by all but the most ardent Trophy hunters.

“More adventure than action” is probably going to cause me to skip the game.

I love first person shooters but this ain’t a shooter. Should have been third person.

Interesting! If I ever play it, I'll be sure to share my thoughts, and whether or not they align with some of the observations laid out in this review!

Your Mom
What aspects of The Order 1886 were your favorite, which you might like to see expanded upon or reimagined in a sequel?
It's been 10 years since I played it. It was a memorable experience and left me wanting even more. I would want more of the same in a sequel, just longer. No need to mess with the formula.
