The market is finite. The pool of consumers is finite. Majority of competition is zero sum. Everything else is fairytale for idiots.
Only big market openings can drastically change growth prospects - say China removing all barriers to be hollowed out (which they smartly do not allow). Since that is not the case, it's marginally growing, and managed.
Hence why misunderstanding the nature of competition and thinking you can reinvent the wheel is so dangerous. But again the nature of man is imperfection so.... illogicality is a common occurrence regardless of stature.
This was expected after a major merger like this, but it is really funny watching the same ones who raked PlayStation over the coals whenever they let a single person go refuse to keep the same energy here. I hope this latest incident on Resetera serves as a wakeup call to the sane posters left on there and they realize that unless you are a hardcore Xbox evangelist, you are not going to be welcome on that website.
Also, I remember seeing dudes hype up Blizzard's new IP only for it to be cancelled. Not unusual in this industry, but again, the difference in energy is noticeable.

Yes and PlayStation should be focused on getting consoles selling there and every other market they have not got a foothold, I stead of cannibalising themselves with pc a d cloud. Imo

Notice how none of those mods ever appeared in an embracer or bungie layoff thread. The MS payroll is so blatant its scary.
It's almost like people ignore how MS has operated for the last ohhhh 45 years or so. Underhanded, backstabbing, and looking to destroy competition and control markets by any means necessary.
To say it again and again. MS does not care about a quality product. They never have. They care about "winning." That's why Phil Spencer doesn't think making good games will get them anywhere, but buying up the industry and shutting it down will. Whatever table scraps are left will belong to MS and you'll get it from them, or you won't at all. And you'll like it.
Takes like that were always extremely dishonest. It was never about the employees, it was about having Xbox gain the upper hand over PlayStation.

My point is that their stuff isn't very high quality or they wouldn't need so many paid defenders, it would just speak for itself.
