Console is a different story altogether. With its newest season launch Warzone 2/MW22 is probably holding its own against Fortnite for top spot in industry. This will change when Fortnite introduces its leaked first-person mode next season. It will steamroll everything.
I also have never seen battle.net data and if there is any available that would be useful. MMO tracker websites are all 100% fake estimates unless game data is actually provided. So that’s useless here. I would imagine however that the vast majority of players will have switched to steam immediately from blizzard’s launcher with this release.
Steam performance is showing an on-going downward trend with a moderate bump from a new season launch. I still find this quite shocking. Mechanically Apex and CoD are similar so I don’t see why PC players wouldn’t also embrace CoD.
In more extreme scenarios PvP players will indeed move from pc to console if hacking and cheating is rampant. That could explain it…
Multiplayer landscape is definitely changing.
