Its great to see Forspoken is doing well. The echo chamber on the internet tried to tell everyone it was going to flop.
Also its nice to see the market is still doing well for the 2 consoles that actually have business sense to keep supplying their market of interest with new games/experiences.

So... PlayStation and Nintendo went up but everything else went down?

Accessories are down across the board?!

Really shows how slow Xbox sales have become. I'm seeing people saying the X is heavily supply-constrained but, is it really? Seems to me it's readily available in places, and supposing it is supply-constrained, wouldn't Microsoft have known this for months and we'd finally have more supply available by now?

Dunno, I think people are reaching for supply constraint as an excuse when it really feels more like it's just lacking demand.

BTW PS5 last year January: 370k
And Xbox is at max < 307k

Welp that settles it. Either supply is so bad for Series X and demand so low for Series S that it's producing these results, or in truth supply for the X isn't as bad as people keep wanting to say, but even with its supply, demand is lowering.

It's one of the two because I can't imagine MS shortchanging their strongest market of the more powerful Xbox system that would naturally perform best in that same market.

Series X was never meant to be the main Xbox Series model. If it was, they’d produce more than one for every three Series S.

Then MS have made a critical error, because they've overflooded the US & UK with an Xbox with low demand in those markets, and their dual SKU approach prevented them from getting more Xs out into those markets when PS5 was particularly supply constrained and when Xbox actually had a decent 2021 (the back half, anyway).

Even if they increase Series X supply significantly going forward, it probably won't do much for them now. Their big games won't even start releasing until late Spring, and PS5 just has too much momentum now. Switch will also be in a strong place by then with Zelda carrying them, so Xbox really doesn't have any big exclusives to help distinguish it in the market until MAYBE Starfield, and that could get drowned out by Spiderman 2, or even Starfield itself not coming out so hot.

Some people are trying to say increased Series X supply will solve the problem but it really won't.

Still got folks like Jeff Grubb tweeting and pushing the narrative that Forspoken was a flop. I didn't even realize the dude even cared or spoke about sales until today.
