Still got folks like Jeff Grubb tweeting and pushing the narrative that Forspoken was a flop. I didn't even realize the dude even cared or spoke about sales until today.

We need to start filtering out or purge these so call "Journalist" who spew nothing false information in the gaming community. What has he really done for the industry that people prop him up in a pedestal? He and other so call journalist certainly don't influence my purchase decisions.

That was the idea. Steal the generation with a bargain basement console tied to a subscription commitment.

It didn’t work, and now MS is stuck with retailers being overstocked with a dud console nobody wants, and needing a wafer redesign if they want to change the production ratio to make more Series X, since the APU chip for both Series models are cut from one wafer.

Anyways, a reminder on individual game sales- Nintendo first party doesn't include digital sales so their titles are always doing significantly better than listed, which is already very good.

Anything the Steamdeck does is a bonus. It was released in Feb 2022. Did not exist last January.

With the PS5 and Switch up even without including digital, this is Xbox in the decline.

It's looking pretty bad for the brand even in its strongest markets, all things considered. The Late 2021 - Early 2022 window really seems to have painted a distorted picture of brand health, in hindsight. By all accounts, their sales should be growing YoY this early into a generation, not dropping.

I find funny because PCMR is the only place where a new hardware barely hits 1 million units in a year and it is not considered a huge failure

Imagine a console or portable selling 1 million in it first year.
Xbox One sold 10 million in a year and it was considered a failue

Steam Desk for me flopped... NPD doesn't even need to count it sales.

Steam deck is one of the worst platforms ever made, really have no sympathy for that thing, glad it failed.

Hi Fi Rush nowhere to be found, either. YES! This game deserves failure more than any other, it's legion of astroturfers and marketers failed to earn it any sort of return on investment. Excellent news, franchise is dead after this! SO happy right now.

Let this be a lesson to microsoft and Tango gameworks, no one is falling for your BS marketing tactics for your lame little game. LMAO at each and every hi-fi rush shill.

well it's a dead franchise now, failed to chart at all. Better for tango to just move on from this failure of a franchise, it has no market appeal whatsoever.

#7 list in launch month means it flopped fam. Madden is #3 and it sells like 4-5 million copies per year, or averaging 400k copies a month.

Forspoken is at number 7, not bad at all. Ragnarok continues to beast and PS3 GOTY (LOU1) keeps on trucking on PS5. I guess quality is appreciated across generations, no less buoyed up by a quality show.....Looking forward to LOU2 Remake for Season 2......

Fire Emblem also doesn't count digital sales though, so its probably got an extra third or so gamesales to count. Also, FE is relatively niche in my opinion whereas Forspoken should be able to be picked up and played by anyone. YMMV but FE to me has always struck me as a love it or hate it series. I've never picked it up but would be willing to at least try Forspoken at some future date.

Depends what Square Enix expects from Forspoken. Anything over 5 million is unrealistic for sure. I’m guessing at best 1 million for its launch year. I always thought this was gonna be a stinker so whatever.. it should have been expected. Ff15 was trash.
