I believe the upgrade in backend is related to the merge… change in logo, color scheme, data input, etc.
BTW there is no software issue… he said upgrade only.
The new company was announced in early March.

I think most of them wil continue in Xbox and the ones who leave will go to PS and PC. Remember that a big percent of PS5 users didn't have a PS4.
I think we have reached the point in this console generation where there is momentum for a clear win. Even if MS was to release all their games the mind share is just with playstation.The fact Dualsense Edge selling better than SX/S is hilarious!

And xbox does not have enough dedicated games to be one of those games that lost but still has a library worth visiting (the TG-16, Saturn, N64, Dreamcast, OG xbox, GameCube, etc. are like this).
I think MS will pull a Xbox 360 again and try to launch their next generation first and making those unreleased games exclusive to the next gen.
I’m pretty sure they had planned a Pro model but at this time why bother?
When would they do that? If they pull something like that too soon it will be a Dreamcast like disaster. MS doesn't look ready at all to rush into another gen.
Sony will have a much smoother transition from PS5 to the PS6 because of how weak the Series S is. MS took a big gamble with the Series S and even if it migth have helped early on it is now clear that it was a mistake.
Pro models also seem to favor Sony in pretty much every way. I don't see any hardware related moves MS can pull other than a heavilly subsided portable (that would be counter to their cloud push anyway).
If there is any chance for Xbox to do better it will have to come from a drastically improved and consistent output of games. Clearly just being cheaper ain't working.

Sales dont matter
Losing Market share in very region from your previous generation, which was a disaster, doesnt matter
Developers getting a return or profit on your platform doesnt matter
Billion Dollar Losses dont matter
Third party sales drying up doesnt matter
Game pass growth stalling out doesnt matter
xcloud being a dud doesnt matter
Developers and studio heads leaving you to work for other companies or start their own doesnt matter
All other subscription services for tv are bleeding customers and still trying make a profit even with 100 million subscribers years later doesnt matter
All that matters are acquisitions, twitter follower updoots, and government over sight to ensure "fair" competition.
You really think MS makes plans? They are reactive. This generation is more than clear they were not ready and did not listen the devs. Let’s not forgot that MS does not depend on gaming, they can afford to loose money as long as the result is increased marketshare
They already brought 3rd party developer’s and make those game exclusive, it is clear what they will do.
If they do like you are suggesting it won't work no matter what. They can't get murdered again with the Series and abandon it and expect people will show up for the next one.
MS plan is exactly what they accused Sony of doing: they want grow by making PlayStation smaller (taking key games away from the PS5). Their plan has little to do with hardware. They are leveraging what's left of Xbox to buy them time to get Gamepass/xCloud going.
MS did an exposition with all the Xboxes and pointing to the next generation with a question mark?

I am almost sure they will try what I’m saying, they have nothing to lose. Also their fanbase is quickly to jump and praise anything.
MS wants to be the first and have tons exclusives because that worked well for them before also let’s not forget that also abandoned their OG Xbox and their userbase very quickly.
Resetting their own install base while they couldn't even release current gen exclusives makes no sense. Where would these next Xbox exclusives even come from? Even after acquiring ABK the games will take a long time to be made.
If you hold on the games you would had released on Xbox series s and x, your next console will have more launch tittle’s. And people would want to play on the newer console with better graphics. Like I said, Xbox done this before.
What games do you think they'll hold back? You seem to assume MS has a bunch of games they could release in 3 years when they barely have anything for that time frame, even if you include ABK games.
Look at their launch titles and how many games released so far, for the next gen, any number is better than what they are doing currently.
Those games will release on the Series, most years from now. Let's get real.
If MS had games they would release them.
My question is if Sony will have the games in the upcoming years given how long game production is taking for most studios. So far so good, surprisingly.
