You have been told (and others) to stop with the constant back and forth with two games in particular, It is starting to annoy other people on the forum.
This is current Japanese sales not fodder for your arsenal.
Kinda surprised by both, ps5 and switch. Doesnt any1 in Japan already own one? Those re still great numbers. Did it outsell DS and wii LTD in Japan? Also ps5 s doing great. Seems sony wasnt crazy about q4 prediction. If they manage 6M it ll be crazy.
Finally growing on Japan, I hope that means japanese devs are more willing to develop AAA games for current gen!

It seems they like to run some conspiracy theory that the high sales are people trying to sell them off to China...
Yeah, I've seen them go with that theory with absolutely no evidence and nothing but year old twitter posts to back them up.
But one thing i will say is that Nintendo users in Japan will buy dirt if Nintendo was selling it for $60. That Kirby game seems to be a remaster of a 2011 Wii game with 2d graphics, that probably cost less than 10 million to make. No wonder Nintendo's profits are so high.
They used to say all PS5 sales were scalpers... so now with good supply they are saying it goest to China.
They ignore digital sales (even when at 15-20% of PS5 sales are digital only) to say software is low.
It is clear Switch and PS5 owners have different habits... Switch guys buys more physical than PS5 guys.
Even so digital in Japan is lower than outside.
Something people refuse to acknowledge is that the third party situation in japan is the same for both sony and nintendo. The only thing that sells well are nintendo titles, and not even things like xeno, bayonetta, metroid, etc.
Its going to be mario, kirby, animal crossing, splatoon, mario kart, pokemon, smash bros, zelda, etc. every single week. Mostly the family friendly legacy franchises

The switch seems to be dropping off fairly quickly, which i suppose is normal after how many units it has sold. It looks like 2023 for a new switch would be ideal.
The interesting stat is how many disc-based PS5's are sold over the digital version. Does Japan have a big physical market?
