Very likely. I'd like to know more on the software sales side; heard that Famitsu does not track Amazon Japan, is it also possible they don't track digital sales?

I get the feeling PS5 (and even Xbox Series) lean heavily digital in Japan, whereas Switch leans heavily physical given you won't normally have enough storage by default to hold that many installed games anyway (but the cartridges are small enough to take on the go in like a binder or whatever).

Famitsu, Media Create and Dankeji lists doesn’t account digital… it is physical only.

Famitsu tried to do guesstimates on digital in the past with a separated ranking but it was so off that they stopped the ideia.

Very interesting. Makes it all the funnier then when "certain people" try pointing to the Famitsu charts to play up dire PS5 software sales when none of them count digital, but don't make a peep about non-existent Xbox sales on those same charts, yet also try downplaying PS software sales in the UK physical sales charts as no big deal.

Not saying those PS5 games are suddenly going from like 30K to 3 million or something truly ridiculous like that, but considering how heavy PS is leaning digital globally, it wouldn't be too outrageous to believe PS4 & PS5 software sales in Japan lean digitally. They aren't portables like the Switch, you actually get some real storage, and Japan's got some of the best internet in the world. Series software sales probably also lean very digital in Japan as well, FWIW.

They need to get a bit better in Japan I think... they are below 2021 number yet

Yea that and there are bigger holiday bundles, software to push those sales in Japan. FFVII Crisis core remake will push big in Japan for December along with God of war/Horizon/GT7 bundles.

GT7 is pretty big in Japan, I see that if they can get more bundles for that and God of war selling really well.
