I trust ND 10000% in terms of their mp development, what I don't trust are the higher ups trying to be greedy. Sony has done well traditionally letting the devs have free reign, maybe it has changed and different philosophies are causing issues.Damn. Sounds like Sony wanted more micro transactions.
Engagement as a metric of quality is how we end up with so much garbage, just make a good game and charge me $70. Don't overthink it and don't listen to some boring devs that spent 25 years milking the same subpart games in the form of Halo and Destiny.
This ain't what PlayStation was suppose to be about.
Look at my post and you'll find out there was a single GaaS I cared about, precisely this one.So now you’re mad a gaas got cancelled?

They could've just make great games like they always did for the past 30 years. And it didn’t make the cut because it ended up being subpar.
Better off than releasing Halo Infinite and Redfall level epic disasters and bleeding out even more trying to keep it alive.

Grubb is a bullshitter. Who gets to decide what bodes well for Factions other than ND themselves who created it in the first place and which btw still has a community that plays it daily.
Clout chasing the beard.
This is just the begining. When you're at the top everyone comes for your spot. Blood in the water, sharks come knocking. A lot of BS will be written. Which is why, dumbass clowns like Hermen and Jim gotta go. Everyone is watching their misteps closely, specially when they're this apparent, and so they will pounce at the first opportunity to correct the "imbalances".
Yes, but it sounds more like the game is delayed indefinitely… may never see the light of day. Or they’re temporarily scaling it back to figure out how it can make more money. Idk.Wouldn't that require the team to scale UP in size, not down?
Just using some common sense here.
Honestly if this is Sony readjusting their GaaS approach to where they are taking the non-GaaS teams off of trying to do GaaS titles...then I'm for it. The new groups like Haven, Bungie etc...let GaaS be their wheelhouse. There's so much more that can be done to expand traditional/non-GaaS design models creatively (and I'm sure as suits and bean counters would love to hear, monetarily), it doesn't make sense to take teams tuned to perfection on single player, story-driven content and completely shift gears.
They can help out the GaaS studios with tech and some talent, of course. But why have ND divide their resources in half to work on a GaaS when one of the new studios can handle Factions 2 primarily and ND provides a few members for tech & creative support, and ND can focus on multiple games in the vein they're masters of? Some of this should be no-brainer stuff but :/

So what they have in the pipeline with Corey Barlogs new IP which is AAA, Neil's which is a new ip AAA, Sucker Punch, Insomniac's third project? Bend's new title? They have a lot in the pipe line. Being a good production house is intervening when shit doesnt shake out. Naughty Dog were given more time and money to develop the MP part into something bigger. looks like it has not shaken out. So instead of pulling a 343 and letting it continue they are going to move on and maybe come back to this when Part 3 is on its way closer to full on production.
There is a lot in development.
Pipeline is so big it clogged up and nothing is coming out.
