He's had so much success that people stopped telling him no, even when it was very obvious he needed to be told to stop.
Kingdom Hearts went from a beloved nostalgia-fest into a narratively convoluted mess stuffed to the brim with half-formed philosophies and whatever he should have been working on in therapy that week. He's clearly brilliant, but he needs to be surrounded by people who are good at letting him fly when he's being brilliant, and bringing him back down to the ground when he's gotten too far away.
If Nomura had a talent to make great game he would have delivered with FF15 as well but he didnt and just left a mess that someone else needed to fix. In this review of 15 someone talks a bit about stories of the development while Nomura was in charge

At one point he wanted to make FF Versus13 into a musical. Even Kojima isn't this insane, Nomura clearly belongs in an asylum.
Is anyone else glad that he is not directing FF16 and not involved with character designs so we can have people dressed in somewhat normal clothes for once?
