Should have let Bungie and other MP oriented acquisitions to work on GaaS. And naughty dog to continue with single player games. Either linear cinematic or maybe pivot to an RPG.

I am sure this is all on druckmann. He must have thought he could do no wrong. But only few studios can master GaaS.

pretty sad that we will probably see new division game play and a proper reveal before this. let that sink in.

The only GaaS project that had any credibility. Could see it working based on the solid Factions model. But I guess it just wasn’t to be. Time to pivot out of the GaaS nonsense back to SP with a smattering of experimental MP modes to try out ideas. This is the way.

I just want to know if this game was actually shit or if Bungie saw issues with monetization/engagement. The original Factions multiplayer is one of my all time favorite online games.
as any video from the channel GVMERS shows:

when games have dev issues is usually a combination of 3 factors:

1. Lack of Vision/Direction/clash of egos

2. Technical issues (people related)

3. Technology issues (engine related).

Who knows the actual state of this game really is. But as many have said, this game is one of the GaaS sony has with the most potential, if not the only one to be massively successful,
the Fornite, PUBG of Sony's

There is no really a GaaS survival game out there. (This is why The Day Before got so much attention).

Holy macaroni! Oh the drama! The end is coming, I hope you guys made food reserves for at least 5 or 6 years!

No, I don't care for factions anyway.

Should of just made the standard multiplayer like the first game and expanded it more. Not no gaas nonsense.

TLOU multiplayer was so damn creative and fun to play.

Are the servers even online anymore?
Yup! I loved the Factions. I mean I still do though I don't play it anymore. The servers are still online but the community is dying there.

They never needed to go full GaaS. They could have just dropped co-op story multiplayer DLC like they with with Uncharted 3.

It's honestly such a shame what has happened to both Uncharted 4 multiplayer and now TLOU 2 multiplayer.

Ironically Uncharted 4 multiplayer was one of the main reasons I was excited for PS4, since I was so excited to see how they would build on the excellent Uncharted 3 foundation.

And Factions was my most anticipated Game of this year 😅.

Yeah it's hard to say since the only official material we have is concept art. I'm just kinda pissed that we could've had a multiplayer mode on the disc, bigger ambition drew it out to its own title, and now we're not going to get that title. Last of Us Part 2 is the best, most polished 3rd person action game just from a basic mechanical perspective. I was looking forward to murdering people in it.

Still no news about factions for 3 years

Still no updates on new game project

More layoff

Time for Neil Druckman to go and bring Amy Henig back
Losing Amy Hennig and Justin Richmond truly was such a blow to the studio.

Time to promote the real GOAT at ND: Kurt Margenau

Naughty Dog is a great Multiplayer developer tho? I was also concerned with them going full GaaS as the studio definitely was not equipped to handle it. Especially when it came to long term post launch support.

They should have stuck to the traditional multiplayer approach they've always done.

Imagine wasting years of your crown jewel studios time and resources chasing trends. Stick to what you know and let the Havens' and Firewalks' of the world take care of multiplayer.
Except Sony didn’t tell ND to make this game. It was ND my guess Druckmann was the one who decided this.

I feel like playstation has not had good news for like an entire year lol. Coasting off of the success of the ps4 while MS buys out the industry doesnt seem like a winning strategy long term.
What about all of those record sales and money that they’re making. Also have you seen the news MS received lately? Lol
