Why is this not in the doom thread?

Beats me man. It certainly isn't news. It's not even an early report. It was just speculation based on a single version of the game on a single platform...

The fact that its sales are rising on PS Store makes this thread look absolutely embarrassing. I've seen the game advertised heavily on social media in the last couple of days, and it is clearly working.

It's performance as it relates to CCUs (which again are not a sales metric) seems entirely in line with Lego games on PC. You basically have to pretend like Sony was banking on Steam sales for this release and now just putting it on Steam because it costs them next to nothing to do so.

Even if the game sold 25,000 copies on Steam at 60 dollars, that's 1.5 million dollars in revenue... it's a no brainer. The steam release will probably cover the advertising budget of the game and who knows how many grandparents and parents will just decide to get this for their kid for Christmas, it could do a fair bit more than that.

okay, to which one of you here does "Sony Prophet" belong to? I see him tweeting for like the past 3 years and he keeps the narrative perfectly as the one on this forum. Even the writing style is the same lol
@Etifilio ? Or perhaps the OP made this post because he just wanted to promote his twitter kek

Which one is his writing style is the same and you’ve noticed it for 3 years?
He should just join as the username here if he wants to promote his tweeter

It's still too early to make decent Steam sales estimations. But yes, the Steam early numbers look very weak.

Got it for my son's 8th year birth day, he played all week-end with his sister (and a bit of me, but being the parent w-e aren't for resting).

Anyway, I find it silly and repetitive, but the kids just love it and they're working on making it to 100%!

So, it's a kid's game, and it works great for them.

How about you guys stop trying to micromanage the forum? There's like 20 posts on the front page at all times, you can skip over the threads you don't like and you're free to make counter threads to ones you don't agree with, once you are able to justify your opinion...

Since when is it "dooming" for people to discuss sales for games during the opening week? Get a grip

I don't have an opinion on Lego Horizon's sales, because there isn't enough data to form a legitimate opinion.

I'll certainly respond to FUD because by not doing so inspires people to believe the FUD is accurate.

Opening week? It was released 4 days ago. We don't have any sales data here for anyone to say it's selling well or bad, but beyond that, to ignore to PlayStation sales and focus on the PC sales (no mention of the switch sales) is also showing a clear bias.

Also going to add that using Steam charts to fuel a narrative is useless. I understand many of you are seething that Sony put out a game on Switch, but to go out of your way to make it seem like a flop because you don't like that decision is a bit extreme, especially for a LEGO game for crying out loud.

The only reason this might do poorly compared to other LEGO games is because the IP is not as well known/popular, but that's about it. The multiplatform strategy has nothing to do with it.

It's 2024; you can track stats online to get a glimpse of how a game is selling. Stop being obtuse, especially since you were bragging about it being 9th and climbing on Amazon's Best Sellers list for PS5 in this very thread. You're a walking contradiction.

And what did I say about that. I said that it's way too early to come to conclusions, I refuted anecdotal evidence with anecdotal evidence.

I'm not saying the game is selling well or that it will sell well.

The IP is pretty well known, but they also cut off the PS4 where all the younger players are still latched on to... No one is gonna rush out to buy a PS5 so their kid can play Lego Horizon.

More importantly it's now ranked 9th in games that cost more than 40 dollars and clearly climbing. It's outperforming Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D.

It's also climbing on the Amazon best selling PS5 games chart. Seems like a slow starting because of a lack of pre-release marketing.
You forgot your usual Steam. It's number 462. How long until it's out of the top 500 🤣

Big money on PC 🤡

And the point is this thread is not dooming since digital store fronts do give insights into how it is doing whether you wanna admit it or not.... I don't see why this game is now the exception to have these kinda sales threads / discussions.

If it was blowing up on Steam you'd be in here cheerleading the stats...

It is definitely nowhere near as well known as the IP that LEGO typically works with: Marvel, Star Wars, Disney, DC, etc.

Yeah they keep deflecting to PSN charts. Not a peep about Steam dwindling sales, proving once again that PS gamers are the only ones keeping their studios alive.

A few days ago, it was all about growing the IP outside PS but then reality hits them in the fucking face and they're all about PS sales 🤡

Horizon is very well known on PlayStation and PC... Can we stop the embarrassing damage control? Nintendo Stans know of it considering the Breath of The Wild vs Zero Dawn 2017 competition that took place

Come on... You're acting like Horizon hasn't sold millions on PlayStation and PC before 💀

Funny thing is this game could have expanded the IP had it remain just a PS5 exclusive and give PS4 owners a upgrade path discount or even a PS5 discount through PS Direct / Game Stop if they traded in their PS4 while buying a PS5 and preordering this..

PC has kneecapped their sales and taken over the narrative for all their games once there's a simulataneous release.

Either the game flops and Steam discussion takes over or the game sells well like Helldivers 2 and suddenly you hear without PC the game wouldn't have been a success 😂
