Embrace have a nice suite of IPs.
Capcom have IPs in line with Sony's offerings
Ubi are overpriced
Square Enix are practically first party anyway

Out of all of them they should buy Sega for the laugh

This thinking is what have caused them lose Bethesda and now very likely Activision Blizzard.

Sony needs to secure them, especially right now were they are affordable. Don’t forget there are real threats like Tencent and NetEase also. Sony needs to buy them out, so they can finally stop worrying about losing them. Buying Square Enix doesn’t conclude they cannot buy a further publisher in the future. Especially if Activision Blizzard should go through, the remedy by regulators will be much higher.

They can still buy them, I just don't see the point in spending the money. Zenimax and acti - along with t2 and ea, are corporate-america scumbags. They're soulless corporations out to make money, not experiences.
Microsoft fit into their world perfectly but Sony does not. They use/d Sony to make maximum profit.

Square Enix are the opposite. They fit in with Sony, not Microsoft et al, so they will never sell out to Microsoft.

Lol, Square and Enix have a list of "crimes" as long as any of the western devs.

Sony can’t risk to raise another Yoichi Wada. Despite Sony having a big stake of 20% shares from Square Enix, he betrayed them. He cancelled the long awaited Final Fantasy Versus XIII developed exclusively for PS3. He wanted the next Final Fantasy to be appealing to western audiences, so he broke the contract. Kingdom Hearts III was also have being planned as PS3 exclusive. No but sadly the same story: “It needed to be appealing to western audiences (Xbox)”. Removed Final Fantasy characters and made it a Disney Festival for western taste. Then he made two exclusive games for Xbox 360 instead for PS3. Last Remnant and Infinite Undiscovery, both a huge financial flop on Xbox. Sony paid for the next Star Ocean 5 for being exclusive to PS4. What did Wada? He cut off budget for Star Ocean and have it released unfinished. Btw the worst SO ever. Then Matsuda overtake, and he started making Gamepass Deals with Xbox. What I am trying to say, Square Enix cannot be trusted. The possibility for another Yoichi Wada to appear, is not unlikely. That’s why for God’s sake acquire them in full, so the worries can stop.

I wasn't aware of that. In that case, buy them, sack the rot and western sell outs and bring them fully into the Sony landscape

Is that the rot that releases shitty P2W FF mobile games in Japan, takes a decade to release a game that still gets found lacking and bare (Versus XIII/XV,) greenlit Babylon's fall to chase the live service trend, greenlit Avengers, gave no support to the good western games and teams it had, put a main-line DQ game on fucking phones and then never ported it to consoles (Switch port years later, technically) or localized it in the west, etc? Because you'd have nothing left, no-one is a saint, we're all sinners.
