Breaking news: Microsoft is planning a new price increase for Game Pass subscriptions, and the change is scheduled to take effect on March 1, 2025.

The information has already been transferred to official stores and resellers, and the change will affect all regions where the service is available, constituting a global change.

Details of the price increase

Although the new prices have not yet been announced, information from retailers indicates that the adjustment will affect all versions of the service, including Game Pass Console, PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate.

The latter, which offers access to both console and PC games, as well as other benefits, will probably be one of the plans most affected by the change.

According to extas1s this isn't true and seems to be some sort of price hike to regional pricing for retailers so people can't get cheap stuff via vpns any more
 
Some people will have locked in using the $1 cheats from past years and the rest. Like any subscription these days, its going to be more and more costly to keep people renewing continually. And they are losing so much on new game sales from people jumping in for a month and out. Heck some people cancel mid month and get refunds for the half month of gamepass getting the game scott free
 
Oh no, guys....we better start buying more Xbox games on PlayStation so they can drop the price for them.... 🤣😂🤣😂

Which is effectivly a price hike for many GP Users!

There are so many of them relying on those loop-holes and tricks.

They are not even willing to pay that measly price...
 
If they actually increase the price again so soon they are just milking the current subscriber base with no goals to actually grow the service. If they can't get 50 million subs, then they will make their 30 million pay more to make up for it. Eventually as the price gets higher and higher the sub numbers will drop and drop and then the game pass will be done.

50 Mil subs paying $20 a month is equal to 30 Mil subs paying $33 a month. Their original goal was 100mil which we know isn't happening.

Call of Duty only increased subs for 2% for the quarter. So, with it being basically stagnant they have to start milking as much as they can out of the current subs. I look for the next price increase to go straight to $25 a month for Ultimate

that's why satya nadella is running as fast as possible towards playstation. tbh i wish sony would tell them no and then satya would pull the plug on their entire gaming division. they've been such a shitty influence on gaming

Then I am God tier. I pay full price monthly.

Either that or plain stupid.... But the price is already too high for what we're getting.
We used to get quality for 9 euros a month.

Now we get trash for 12 a month.

What's next? 15 bucks and an empty storefront?
Im out. I'll just buy Black Ops 6 on Steam and start my Prestige journey again.

Don’t you get yearly subscription deals for Gamepass?

Or is it monthly only?

Luckily I pay around 85 pounds a year for PS Premium cause my subscription always ends a day before Black Friday.

I had them stacked but since the games on offer change every month, I want to choose when to stop using it.
Freedom comes at a price I guess. But if they are going to up the prices again, it's my last tie with Xbox which will be severed.

At first it was like Holy SHIT!! Gears, Forza, Halo OMG, OMG.
But having played through them I find the current offerings on GP mediocre at best.

Sometimes there's a little gem in the new releases but piss off with Cooking Mama and shit....

With PS+ I always bought it around Christmas when it was on sale.

The Enshitification will definitly push their numbers down.

Once Rewards, VPN-Tricks, Conversion-Tricks etc. stop working, people will jump ship.

I heard from many people who only even had gamepass because of those cheap tricks.
