The real question is, does MS has experience in management of that so many studios?
Sooner or later MS will want their investment to pay off.

And looking at how they are managing their studios, I think things will not go well for MS.
you still that naive. their goal, to kill Playstation, not to make money. it was clear multiple times.
they can faster replace CoD dead than Sony can in their books.

If we gamers aren’t that stupid we will choose a company that tries to make good games rather than a billionaire company who uses their fans and their money to take hold of the gaming industry but seeing how people on Twitter and on Ree are behaving, yes you are correct I am very naive

They'll make their money once PlayStation is dead. That's the plan. ABK will make money regardless so they aren't even risking anything, they are just using their size to control a market that they could never find success in.

MS got destroyed by Valve on Windows/PC, got destroyed by Sony and Nintendo on consoles, they were never known for releasing quality games or good products, they bet everything on GaaS/Cloud and failed, they had no success on mobile and got obliterated by Google/Apple. Yet now they get to be the biggest company controlling the direction of traditional games, all because Azure/Office made them money.

This is silly, their goal is to make money through Gamepass. If it was about killing Sony then buting Activision Blizzard, which devotes only one third of itself to consoles, is a terrible way of going about it.

I know you can't say much, but what's the sentiment and mood around colleagues you work with? Pertaining to this deal.

Nah. Their goal is to spend both Sony and Nintendo out of business by changing the way the industry operates and becoming the SOLO player on it.
It's what MS do.
Why are you and other MS supporters trying to be so blind and disingenuous?
The current business model didn't work for them so now they're trying to disrupt and by buying third parties, they can do it.
Make no mistake. If they're able, they will run both Sony and Nintendo out of the industry and then will proceed to buy both.

I mean, we have their documents saying exactly that. I have no idea why people pretend it's something else.

you are completely delusional. all testimonies, emails, their goal to kill Playstation, what are you talking about. and when they do that, then they will think about profits. they done that multiple times. Leopards don't change their colors.

Looks like CMA might give in. 🤷
I think its the other way around, tbh. Seeing what we've seen in the FTC docs, I wouldn't be surprised if MS devests Activision minus King and keeps King and Blizzard. That satisfies their PC and mobile pushes while from what we've seen they aren't really that interested in growing their western console offerings as much anymore.

The biggest loser? Bobby Kotick, who has tried to turn ABK into a mobile/GaaS company but would be stuck losing twenty years of his smart business decisions. And of course the board wants to fire him anyway for the California lawsuit shit.

Once they are big enough it won't even matter if Gamepass is what makes them money or not, something will. They'll be able to just pivot from it unopposed (no more day on games on Gamepass, hike up the price, cut the budget of games, add more microtransactions and adds to games, etc)

Lets leave the business side of things and talk about the people supporting this deal.
Can't believe there are actual real people supporting this but their entire support is based on the assumption that cod titles will be free day one on gamepass, if for some reason activision denies that then the the meltdown would be crazy. These people supporting market consolidation and a trillion dollar company buying anything they like and for what reason just so that they can get those games for cheap, i have one advice for such people- just go and pirate the game. Imagine supporting microsoft to eat up the gaming industry just cause you are too broke to pay money for a game you are going to spend hours playing and having fun.

Their is no world where MS accepts to divest Cod. That devalues the deal tremendously. Stop with the nonsense take. CMA is being reasonable hence why their now back to the table. Divesting cod isn't reasonable for MS. They said this already

So, if this goes through then Microsoft will surely move to the next publisher. That's most likely T2. Nothing will stop Microsoft. FTC, CMA and others are basically rendered useless entities. Corporate consolidation chaos in every industry is coming. None of these regulators, or courts will be able to block anything. They made the case in this ABK merger.

This is so true, this case has set a bad precedent, where does this madness end? How many companies can they buy before they can be stopped, will they be stopped before its too late?
Microsoft must have already started figuring out their next purchase, they have been allowed once more after zenimax purchase, even the regulators look helpless now.

Pressure makes diamonds. Perhaps we get a hit PlayStation shooter out of it.

Welp it looks like the CMA has been effectively bribed? Stopping all appeals to rework the deal again
Bribed? Where’s your evidence of bribery? More than likely they looked at their current position on the merger as untenable and are looking to cut a deal with ms and walk away as perceived “winners” politically. Same as EC.
