MS didn’t have market share when they got the Rise of the Tomb Raider deal, which was why they had to pay over $100 MILLION for one year of exclusivity. The last time MS had decent market share (or expected to have) they bought exclusives from SquareEnix (Tomb Raider), Capcom (Dead Rising) and EA (Titanfall). Even just bringing this up now is absurd, MS only stopped doing it with big games because it doesn't work for them anymore but they still do it with indies and smaller games.

They stir the us vs them narrative and outrage without any genuine insight or common sense. It's refreshing to see some good, old common sense applied to this issue. I'd like to think most people already knew this was the reason, but it doesn't help when people like Jez attempt to introduce a narrative.
They expected to have since they were coming of the 360 were they had close to what the PS3 had in the end. I doubt that when they negotiated these deals they knew how disastrous the One gen would be (the Xbox One despite everything actually had a decent launch before sales dried out, a lot like the Series).MS didn’t have market share when they got the Rise of the Tomb Raider deal, which was why they had to pay over $100 MILLION for one year of exclusivity.
That kind of money NOT giving a permanent exclusive shows how little desire third-parties had to make deals with MS last generation, and things are worse now.
Also, never forget that the Crystal Dynamics head negotiated the deal WITHOUT approval from SquareEnix HQ and was fired for it.

This is my favourite bit from the response
Sony basically accusing the CMA of only using microsofts estimates that were calculated just for this case and not looking at other existing documents for evidence of foreclosure being worth it for MS that may be higher. Combine that with the comment that the CMA did this without explanation feels like CMA is falling for the MS pressure tactics.
That Era thread talks a lot about MS appealing to the CTA if the CMA doesn't rule in their favor, but something like this might be a justification for Sony to do the same if they viewed it as worth the trouble.Absolutely damning evidence of bias.
Wait, what?Jez might be implying that MS need to buy Square and force them to put their games on Xbox, lol. Even though Square aren't likely to sell to MS, I still think Sony need to pick them up just in case.
When PS3 monthly sales numbers were getting better than XB360
Even that was pure trolling. Halo 3, was on market for 3 years, outselling uncharted,KFC greenburger really loves putting his foot in his mouth.
My favourite is when he made fun of halo outselling multiple Sony exclusives. Now Sony exclusives outsell top selling Xbox games like halo 3 on a regular basis.
It's a pretty common take I've seen from some of the Xbox diehards.Wait, what?

but i like them, they do good job for the Playstation. i need them stay on for ABK purchase. that they could help Playstation again. The fact that this clown still has a job at Xbox shows they can't be taken seriously and the same goes for Phil Spencer.
If PlayStation does it's job it won't matter what Xbox will do. Sony already has the winning hand the question is if Jim Ryan and the Sony executives will fumble it all or not this time.but i like them, they do good job for the Playstation. i need them stay on for ABK purchase. that they could help Playstation again.
